visited the sunderland branch as we where given a gift voucher to use.on entering we where taken to our seats & before we had a chance to take off our coats the waitress was there asking about drinks.we told her to come back later as we wanted to look at the menu.after about 5 minutes she returned & we ordered our drinks.after waiting over 10 mins the drinks arrived.we looked at the menu & nobody came to take our order for over 15 minutes.we then ordered & waited over 35 minutes to receive our food.before that it seemed like a creche with one woman breast feeding a baby & another letting her baby crawl around our table,not what you expect in a restaurant.there was very few people in the restaurant so the service was very poor.

This is in NO WAY about the staff in the Sunderland branch, they are all so helpful and welcoming however, the food on the other hand has gone massively down hill. This is also across the M&C franchise. Their nachos used to be the reason I went to Miller &. Carter however, these are now just normal packet tortilla chips literally straight from the packet. The garlic bread now looks anaemic and tastes like it’s microwaved. Their ranch wedge with croutons are not croutons, they are chopped up stale pieces of garlic bread 3 pieces of at most. Basically their menu quality has dropped drastically however, the prices have risen. It’s lost its class in a way and basically joined on with basic “pub food”. I wont be back

Excellent service by our waitress Emily, very attentive. The food was delicious, fillet steaks were tasty and cooked perfectly. There was a mix up with our bill but this was dealt with quickly without any fuss.

We arrived after our child had been at a sports event. The restaurant was fairly empty but the service was poor given the lack of customers. Our server was a little but glum and not overly engaging. Albeit the food was expected but when you spend nearly 200 pounds you expect a better service and some positivity from the waitress.

Went to Miller and carter Sunderland for dinner January 4th for my first ever visit. Read mixed reviews on TripAdvisor and had mixed reviews from family and friends so was sceptical. All I can say is my visit was first class We went as a table of 5, we each had a steak (4 Fillets and 1 Ribeye), each steak was cooked to perfection, each nice and hot but well rested. All sides and sauces were lovely as was each dessert and the bottle of red wine. To supplement that the staff and service were exceptional all night and deservedly tipped. Would defo recommend and place the same exact order again as was worth every penny.

Family meal for 2 birthdays with 3 siblings and partners. We had 3 excellent meals with starters and chateaubriand which were all excellent. Our server Bethany was fantastic, she made us very comfortable and became part of our evening. Advised us on our choices and was at hand all the way through, certainly added to our night

Christmas Dinner was plentiful & excellent quality, especially the turkey. Allergies were handled discreetly. Place settings with our orders on was a lovely touch & reminder! Our server Olivia was attentive, friendly & extremely professional. Thank you all, Miller & Carter, Sunderland.

Bethany was an amazing waitress. Food was lovely per usual and well worth the money. Bethany has a lovely smile and was very attentive. Nothing was too much and was never waiting for long. Also the drinks were fabulous especially my new favourite the raspberry diaquiri. Thank u so much for an incredible experience.
After a few years we decided to try out miller and carter again.We had previously visited with family and had a less than ideal experience.Fortunately this is no longer the case and after being served by Antonio and then Kasey we had a fantastic shared butchers block.The sides and steaks were all fantastic and we felt the quality was outstanding.The service from Kasey was outstanding, she had a great attitude and personality.We even stretched to dessert which again was fantastic.

Christmas dinner afternoon sitting. I feel that I was at a different place compared to other posts written here. Service was prompt by Rayleigh. Food was fantastic as well as hot. More than happy with steak. I’m wondering that another review was from a disgruntled person in a family of 4-6 whom made an embarrassment of themselves in the early evening? I’ve been to M&C at Newcastle and Sunderland for Xmas dinner and Sunderland tips it as more space, friendlier service and better atmosphere and that is not meant in any disrespect to Newcastle.
