Taking a star off for the telly - nowt like the news to spoil the mood on a night out, and telly-free venues for conversation were what made Spoons the cultural bastion it is today. Get the TV in the bin and this is a 5-star night out in Whitley Bay.Kid-friendliness: None of the yummy mummy brigade or screaming kids running around, which is great to see and not a given in pubs these days. Well behaved, quiet children are tolerated.”
