185 Whitley Rd, Whitley BayCracking curry house! I hit it on a busy Thursday night during the school summer holiday with three associates. The standard pre-starter of poppadoms and pickles primed the chops for an aloo chat, Tandoori Cocktail, cheese naan and a bowl of ice cream to conclude. All totally dusted. The party was kept alive with multiple Cobra beers apiece. Next door on both sides are two more eatieries of similar ilk but we hit Shampan due to prior recommendations.
Parking: I used the metro taking me back to Toon. It's two minutes walk behind the place!

Always great choices. Friendly and helpful staff, knowledgeable of the menu.
My house Chardonnay type house wine was a little disappointing.
Hubby said could have done with a little more black pudding+ seasoning in his 'Black Pudding and Tattie' starter.
Doesn't put us off. We mentioned it - they were courteous - we'll still return.
Dessert - oops nearly forgot to take photo it was so scrummy.
A well run, well organised, comfortable space to enjoy great food. Fabulously priced set menu.

7, 8 East Parade, Whitley BayBeen to the Takdir numerous times now over many years, regular customers and used to go back in the old building! The quality has never dropped. Staff are as lovely as always/ Fantastic take away and restaurant. And lovely decoration!

Dixy Chicken, 210 Whitley Rd, Whitley BayI love my fried chicken and I’ve been to many KFCs around the world. When it comes to Dixys in the UK it’s always hit and miss, but my word the food at Whitley Bay Dixy’s was without a doubt the best I’ve had in the UK. The chicken was so tender and just perfectly fried.
My daughter had Peri(or Piri), whatever it’s called, and she loved it, a bit spicy but delicious.
The staff were so friendly too.
Definitely recommend and will be back next time I’m here.

Unit 6 Park View Shopping Cent, Park Ave, Whitley BayWe use this costa often but this morning the service from Adam (I believe) was exceptional. Working alone for a short time as the shop opened there was a queue to the door, Adam was professional yet friendly and so calm. What impressed me as I waited for my turn to be served was how he knew customers names and greeted them individually, knowing what their drink would be he was one step ahead making the drinks.I work in hospitality and I understand the importance of customer care, Adam is a credit to your store/company and should be recognised for his dedication, maybe even be asked to train others to this level.Costa you have a star working for you.My coffee was great as always too and other staff members are always pleasant.

65 Victoria Terrace, Whitley BayFriendly staff I'd like to start off with. So I'm a chef by trade, I ordered one portion of chips as I bought a pizza from sainsburys. Chips weren't very hot but very yummy so after midnight I made an online order from there website not "just eat" for a pickup as I live close.. I got another portion of chips thinking they'd be hotter considering I pre-orded second time but again unfortunately some quality not very hot but I'd have them again, I got a 10inch chicken pizza not too much hotter than the chips unfortunately, pizza quality I'd say was a 4/5 star with room to improve. I love spice so I also ordered jalapeño poppers with the chilli sauce option, unfortunately the Jalapeño was not a full chilli inside like most takeouts so disappointed on that as hotter the better for me personally but both the poppers and chilli sauce was not spicy so that was a shame but still tasty none the less.. A TV in the takeaway would be nice to watch while you wait.

We're always met with a smile, polite, friendly conversation and it's just a pleasure to have that store in our community, they all work so hard and will even let me ring up for an order and it's ready when I walk in! Nothing is a problem for Caroline and the team ! This Greggs is an asset to the business! Nothing is better than getting breakfast from here in the mornings before the rush, equally service during the day is just as friendly and fun! Thank you!

Tofu shashlik was good, I'd like the tofu cooking firmer, but that's personal preference, it was probably cooked as most people would like it. We use take out regularly but have been let down a few times so we tried Shahenshah as we had dined there a few years ago. The food is fab and we will definitely be using again.

10 Station Rd, Whitley BayOrdered takeaway from here tonight and it was great. The food was hot when it arrived. Spicy dishes were indeed spicy. The dal was great (full of garlic though so worth noting if you don't, like us, love it). Delivery took about an hour (longer than quoted) and they use a lot of food dye (hence the 4 stars).
Regardless, this is a reliable place for a takeaway and well worth a go. Delivery person was also great.
Vegetarian options: The tarka dal is great. Rice options all lush. The nan bread is excellent. My friend also had a veg curry (maybe jalfrezi?) and loved it.

Marine View, Seaton Sluice, Whitley BayHad a large end of season party for a girls football team, there were around 40 of us. The communication beforehand was brilliant and the person I spoke to was really helpful. We had a large amount of pizzas and chips in a buffet style and they were all amazing as were the staff. Everyone enjoyed it and we’ll definitely be back.

1-3 Beresford Rd, Seaton Sluice, Whitley BayWe had walked along the seafront from South Beach, Blyth with our dogs, had a drink in the Kings Arms, Seaton and were about to head back along the coastal path when we noticed lots of people going in to the Harbour View fish n chip shop and coming out with bags/boxes of food. We decided to join the queue.
SO glad that we did. The larger cod was dipped in batter & fried to order. They had to break it to fit in the box. We found a lovely place to sit by the estuary to enjoy our feast...it really was delicious. The fish cooked to perfection and the best we have had in a very long time. The chips were also first class.
The whole experience was a delight. The cooks were well organised, the two serving staff were very friendly & efficient, the food was delicious and the price was affordable. Great value for money.
We'll definitely be going back....soon!

Always quality clean chips from frequent fat changing, minimal scrappy slither ends in the portions due to the large basket hole dimensions.
Been my regular for 20 years and never had an over cooked fish.
Testament to a True chippy when you can request breadcrumed fish instead of batter. Reason being it taints the fat.

Found it on google maps and liked the pictures so I figured I’d give it a go with my family as it’s our first time in Newcastle especially the coast side and we wanted proper fish and chips. This really is some of the best fish and chips I’ve had and the service from the owners was 10/10. Lovely women and great quality food. You can tell they’re the original chippy of Whitley Bay. The sit in special of fish and chips, buttered bread with a strong cup of tea was under £8. Solid value for money.

The service was excellent, nothing was too much bother and each member of staff were more than happy to help, ordering was made so easy and everyone got their food quickly.
The food itself was once again amazing, so to please 23 people is definitely an achievement!
The beef was cooked to perfection and the gravy was delicious- and servings were plentiful!
The pub itself us one of the most welcoming pubs I've visited, always ready to greet you with a smile and make you feel like an old friend!
Kid-friendliness: The kids had a field day in the outdoor play area.

The Rockcliffe Arms
Algernon Pl, Whitley BayToday was the first time we visited the Rockcliffe Arms. A friend had described it to us as one of the last 'real' pubs in the area. Couldn't have been more right. What a great pub. Great beer, surroundings, atmosphere, and lovely staff. Will definitely make this a regular haunt.

4, Roxburgh House, Roxburgh Terrace, Whitley BayMy wife and I had a fabulous culinary experience paired with some gorgeous wines. The best evening out for dinner in a long time. Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, the venue is small and intimate with a parisian bistro feel. The restaurant only does a taster menu on Friday and Saturday and need advising of vegetarian requirements in advance. We did this for my wife and she enjoyed every course.
Vegetarian options: Just need to let the restaurant know you are vegetarian in advance.
