They are committed to authentic presentations of fresh, delicious Italian food from all the different regions of Italy. We feel so welcomed here - they accommodate children brilliantly with colouring books and games provided. It feels like a real family restaurant, but with truly delicious and adorable food. We went for Sunday lunch today and I will dream of that porchetta from now on. It was one of the most delicious meals I’ve had in ages.Kid-friendliness: They have colouring books and games at a station near the front. The staff are kind to children, and the kids menu is a good value (with high quality food!)

Earsdon Rd, Whitley BayOn entering The Beacon, I was greeted warmly by the staff. The lad that served me was very friendly and engaged in conversation. Had a lovely drink and noticed all of the staff were constantly busy serving food and being very pleasant with other customers. Manageress came across and warmly welcomed us. Lovely pub and lovely experience.

Unit 6 Park View Shopping Cent, Park Ave, Whitley BayWe use this costa often but this morning the service from Adam (I believe) was exceptional. Working alone for a short time as the shop opened there was a queue to the door, Adam was professional yet friendly and so calm. What impressed me as I waited for my turn to be served was how he knew customers names and greeted them individually, knowing what their drink would be he was one step ahead making the drinks.I work in hospitality and I understand the importance of customer care, Adam is a credit to your store/company and should be recognised for his dedication, maybe even be asked to train others to this level.Costa you have a star working for you.My coffee was great as always too and other staff members are always pleasant.

Whitley Tandoori, 40 Esplanade, Newcastle upon Tyne, Whitley BayPopped in on a Saturday evening after finding our 1st choice was fully booked. I'm glad we did go as the food was excellent. Big portions and a huge peshwari nann side. Price was competitive and service prompt and friendly. Cobra was on draught, which is a nice change from the usual Carlings, Coors, etc. Still got to work our way through the opposition but thumbs up for this venue.

238 Park View, Whitley BayVisited the restaurant last Saturday, it was a fabulous meal served by very friendly staff. We have the sharing platter for 2 as a starter (between 4 of us) the Lamb Jalfrezi was also delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant

Dixy Chicken, 210 Whitley Rd, Whitley BayI am biased here, no one get the food that fast and just out of the fryer ?Chips were amazing , chicken were good but the smaller the better ( the drum stick was best)The bias was that the chicken didn't take enough time to get rid of all the oil since I was the last customer in line ( served very quickly yet not enough time to drain all the oil) which might be the only down sideThe 2 gentlemen who were on shift were really nice and asking how was it, I am glad any wayThe place seems to be in redecoration phase( wall banners were off yet the kitchen was shiny ( which is what I do care for, most of my reviews are : are people nice and helpful, how food was, how hungry was I , I must say I was just passing time,yet enjoyed ?)Just add, I would always prefer spicy chicken if they are available any where, for some reason it gives better crunch, I forgot to ask for it here

The staff here, especially Caroline, are lovely - always happy to serve with a smile and a bit of banter. One of the best selections in a Gregg's in the north east - they always have local specialities like stotties and my favourite tandoori chicken baguette.

13 Front St, Monkseaton, Whitley BayFish and chips doesn't get much better than this. Crisp batter, chips squidgy hot and crisp. Last night's cod was huge. With the chips and a tub of mushy peas it was fantastic. The only downside? It left me so full I could only manage 2 pints in the pub. I used to rate the one in Seaton sluice higher - think seashells is now better.

Hartley Ln, Whitley BayYet again we have had great food at the beehive inn, cooked to order but we'll worth the wait as it was excellent. The pesto salmon was fabulous according to my wife who loves salmon. I had the gish and chips with curry sauce and that was some of the best I've had. Staff are great and attentive and the place is really nice. Booking ahead is recommended to guarantee a table.. Good choice of real ales also available. We shall be back.Parking: Parking around the inn with overflow area but within easy reach we'll within 50 yards.

Dil and The Bear at the Station
Metro Station Whitely Bay, Whitley BayOur favourite cafe now- second visit this week and it was as good as the first. Great coffee! Friendly and efficient service and consistently good food. Their bagels with omelette, avocado and tomato relish are warm, tasty and without doubt the best we’ve ever had... you’ve got to visit to try them if you don’t do anything else this weekend. We’ll definitely be back to try other things on the menu! ... but maybe after another bagel.
