Pubs in Whitley Bay

“Great service. Ordered Sunday dinners as a takeaway. Food was packaged up as soon as I got there. Came and had a meal during the week. Well worth the wait, as you know, the food is cooked ”

“Clean and well-presented dining area that was quite quiet for a Friday evening. Nice food, cooked well. The steak of the mixed grill was a little gristly in places, the rest was excellent. Steak and ale pie was good. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food prices were reasonable.”

“My husband and I have been here a few times and we were both very impressed. The staff are lovely and friendly very welcoming they have always checked if the food is ok did we need anything else ie sauces or more gravy and then enjoy. We have had the Sunday lunch a few times and have tried the beef, turkey & gammon, and the pork with the crispy bits very yummy.Enjoy we did every time we have been the food been wonderful cooked perfectly. You get a good portion the meat is not skimped it’s thick enough to be able too taste what you are eating and meat is lovely and tender and you also have a nice choice and the amount of lovely fresh vegetables with a nice gravy not forgetting the Yorkshire pudding. The food is delicious. Will see you again soon. Thank you so much. Christine.”

“Spoons at its best. An historic building lovingly restored and maintained to be a thriving social hub in the heart of the community. Cracking selection of beers, great value food from a varied menu, and canny staff. Taking a star off for the telly - nowt like the news to spoil the mood on a night out, and telly-free venues for conversation were what made Spoons the cultural bastion it is today. Get the TV in the bin and this is a 5-star night out in Whitley Bay.Kid-friendliness: None of the yummy mummy brigade or screaming kids running around, which is great to see and not a given in pubs these days. Well behaved, quiet children are tolerated.”
