It's a Spoons, so you know what to expect in regards to food and drink and price (this one is on the lower end of the spoons pricing range). The real draw is the exquisite teal green fire station building it is within!

Mains were brought out before starter so we sent the back only to be given the same mains reheated. When I complained we were asked to leave barred from coming back only half refunded and the manager made sexist comments

There are more chiefs than indians in this place and some definitely think they are more important than the customers. They have a penchant for being rude and discourteous to older people, and have a banning policy that borders on the ridiculous.Locals are regularly treat with contempt.

Pleasant atmosphere on a late Friday night. Not a great beer range, but beers I had perfectly acceptable. Good service from bar and door staff.Parking: Town centre location making parking awkward.

Went in for a Breakfast muffin deal and really enjoyed it. Bottomless coffee and the place was nice and warm. Very welcome on a cold day. Thank you!

Main meal, ordered steak, unfortunately had a lot of grissle and was not cooked ‘medium’. The dessert however was lovely. Interesting building however.

It was taken off and reheated..when I complained I didn't want the same rice reheated twice.the kitchen boy rolled his eyed.. supposedly gave me a fresh portion !! Ignorant.rude.disgusting food..staff need training in basic hygiene.. and hue to reheat rice so it's safe to eat..basic stuff..

Never been in before but for a wetherspoons where it's usually hit and miss with the food and service, I found this place to be spot on. Definitely one of the better ones in the north east.

Spoons at its best. An historic building lovingly restored and maintained to be a thriving social hub in the heart of the community. Cracking selection of beers, great value food from a varied menu, and canny staff. Taking a star off for the telly - nowt like the news to spoil the mood on a night out, and telly-free venues for conversation were what made Spoons the cultural bastion it is today. Get the TV in the bin and this is a 5-star night out in Whitley Bay.Kid-friendliness: None of the yummy mummy brigade or screaming kids running around, which is great to see and not a given in pubs these days. Well behaved, quiet children are tolerated.

Tried this weatherspoons in Whitley Bay the beer is by far cheaper than others nearby and decent quality, staff nice and friendly not to much of a wait at the bar,did not try the food but others around me seemed to be enjoying it ?.Overall, nice enough clean pub with good staff tables constantly cleaned and toilets clean big + would definitely use again.

Very pleasant pub. Found tables immediately (on a Tuesday night). The food was properly prepared and warm. The food was very typical for Wetherspoons, but was still tasty nonetheless.
