Nicely decorated bar. We felt welcome, friendly service. Nice and warm to shelter from a cold rain shower and enjoy a nice Mocha.

My family stayed in the hotel and ate breakfast in the restaurant. Tne rooms are nice (we had 2 for a family trip). New owner, Kirk, is delightful and really cares that you enjoy your stay there. The staff is efficient and friendly. A super breakfast came with the room -- excellent chef. I highly recommend this place. We had a wonderful stay and plan to go back.

Had a very comfortable stay under the new management, nice room fabulous breakfast. We happened to be there when Wales were playing in the Rugby world cup so the bar was pretty packed, but the new owner still got us checked in & settled in our room. We will definatly go back to see how he has put his stamp upon the business.

From the moment we walked in to the pub to check in until we checked out two days later, we experienced nothing but rudeness and appalling customer service. The member of staff on duty for most of the time (speaking with a Brummie accent) was the least hospitable person I have ever encountered in the ‘hospitality’ industry. It’s laughable that they charge £120 a night for such sub-standard accommodation. In the Middle East, where I live, you could stay in a true 5* hotel such as the Grand Hyatt or Intercontinental for that price. It’s no wonder that the bar was always quiet and soulless whilst other establishments within walking distance were bustling and vibrant. Aberaeron is a lovely town but make sure you don’t spoil your enjoyment of the area by staying in or visiting the Castle!
Room and breakfast fine the bar was a different experience everything seemed to much trouble sign outside said cafe/bar at 1.30pm asked for a menu for sandwiches and snacks only cake available cut with a razorblade when family arrived at 3.15pm one wanted a coffee told not available after 3pm at the time there was 10 people in the bar with the expensive coffee machine sitting on the bar could not believe the owner would turn away such profitable business

Avoid this place if you have children. Myself and my partner with other family members (not children) walked in at 7pm. We took seats at the table (bar staff seen us walk in and take a seat) bearing in mind we had one 4 year old and another 7 week old who was in a pram… we all took our coats off (they looked at us and said NOTHING!!) these women came in and complained that we had taken the space of a table, with that the woman behind the bar came over to us and said that we had to get out as there was no children allowed in there even though they had all had seen us coming in and taking a seat with the children. We started to grab our coats and move out to which the group of women thanked the people behind the bar for throwing us out. My father went back in to ask why didn’t they advise first off when we walked in why we weren’t told children weren’t allowed, to which we had the reply “I don’t need to serve anyone including you”. If you want nice staff, polite service and a nice place to eat/drink AVOID THIS PLACE!! We are regular’s of Aberaeron but I will never go here again.

Won't be returning! Stopped for a drink with my partner and 2 dogs (1 is a 14 week old puppy) We sat outside, the owners were also sat outside obviously very drunk speaking very loudly, as we were sat there our puppy barked a couple of times the landlady said very loudly in Welsh obviously thinking we couldn't understand her " If that was my dog I'd give it a good hiding!" So much for dog friendly pub ! Needles to say we won't go there again.
