Nok Nok Mumbles
85 Newton Rd, Mumbles, SwanseaWhat a great place! The staff are lovely, so friendly and smiley. The food was incredible (particularly the Panang curry) - probably the best Thai food we’ve had. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Naturally Scrumptious
18 Market St, AberaeronWe had our lunch here today. The food was excellent, there was a good choice of drinks and the guy who served us was very friendly and helpful. The produce in the deli looked great too. We've struggled to find somewhere nice for lunch in Aberaeron previously, but struck lucky here. We'll be back.

The Stubborn Duckling Ltd
25 Sgwar Alban, AberaeronFirst time dining at this restaurant following many recommendations. Walking in, you are welcomed by a well appointed comfortable seating area adjacent to the bar. This had a lovely vibe and allowed for a relaxing pre-lunch drink. Staff were super friendly and attentive and really couldn't do enough for you. We were shown to our table in the main dining room which was equally well appointed with plenty of space between tables and natural light from the large modern roof lights. Our server took our order in good time from a nicely varied menu with options to suit most tastes and dietary requirements. As this was a Sunday, my partner and I both opted for traditional lunches deciding on the lamb and belly pork for the main event. Our food arrived in great time despite the restaurant being particularly busy. Presentation was simply excellent and I'm a firm believer that if food looks good on a plate, it's taste is likely to match! The pork was served rolled in a splash of jus topped with a delicate apple sauce with mustard mash, roast potatoes and crispy crackling. The lamb rump followed suit and came with a Yorkshire pudding. Accompanying sides took the form of a rich gravy, some traditional greens, glazed carrots and baked cauliflower cheese along with some mint sauce to bring out the flavour of the lamb. The meats were soft, tender and melt in the mouth. The lamb was served pink as requested but could be cooked to any liking. Crunchy roast potatoes cooked perfectly on point and a delicately flavoured mash were fantastic. The carrots had a glazed sheen and were sweet to taste. The cauliflower cheese which can be considered a little contentious for a Sunday lunch, was baked to perfection, tender to bite and oozing with creamy flavour. There was simply nothing to fault about our visit and it's great to see a restaurant hitting every note. Thank you for a wonderful lunch and we look forward to our imminent return. Diolch.

The Black Lion- Aberaeron
31 Sgwar Alban, AberaeronSo delighted that the Black Lion is under new management, totally refurbished in get style. Must visit to see the wonderful decor, throughout. We chose to sit outside in the backyard ( plenty of seating) on a sunny evening. Staff so friendly, it was nicely busy with a mix of groups and couples. Great log burner in one of the lounges for those chilly days. Really looking forward to trying their food next. Upstairs restaurant looked so inviting with stunning decor and overlooking Alban Square. I wish the best of luck to the new management and team. A great asset for Aberaeron.

Y Seler
8 Market St, AberaeronBooked Y Seler as a special treat as we were staying in the area and had heard some really great things about this place. We'd been here before for some drinks on the upper terrace overlooking the harbour, which was lovely in the sunshine, albeit the harbour is undergoing some extensive refurbishment at the moment! It will be lovely when the work is complete. The restaurant and piano bar are located on the lower floor with a fantastic chilled area to sit with drinks to peruse the menu before being seated. Staff were super friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough to ensure our evening was special. We had a great table overlooking the outside terrace. We both decided to go for the moules marinière to start, and I have to say that this was the nicest version of this dish I've ever tried anywhere in the world! I'm amazed to make such a claim, but credit where credit's due! Lamb rump and pork belly were the dishes of choice for main course, which were both beautifully cooked and packed full of flavour. Soft and tender meat that just melted in the mouth. Having sought advice from our lovely server, we chose to add a seasonal vegetable side to accompany the lamb dish as it was a smaller sized dish, and this ended up being a good call. We chose to share a cherry bakewell sundae to complete the meal, which was a lovely treat. I'm struggling to find anything negative to say about Y Seler to be fair. I guess getting a reservation can take some time, especially during peak season. Prices are not cheap, but this is a quality establishment producing some fine dining in a superb setting. You really do get what you pay for. Had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning soon. Diolch yn fawr am noswaith hyfryd.
As a follow on from my previous review, we recently decided a stay at the hotel was in order for a special occasion. We already had high expectations following a couple of visits. Check-in was a breeze as we'd already been able to complete the process online by following a link in a reminder email. We were lucky enough to have a deluxe room overlooking the river and harbour inlet at the rear of the property. The room was appointed to a very high standard and even boasted electric blinds! A large sumptuous bed with soft comfortable pillows meant a very relaxing stay. There was a large TV boasting Sky, coffee machine and all the usual extras you might expect from a superior room. The en-suite was luxurious with a wonderful rainfall shower. The standard of the accommodation side of the hotel matches the high standard of the restaurant and bar areas which was great to finally see first hand. Our evening meal downstairs was another triumph but as I've already covered the dining options previously, I'll just add some photos which should speak for themselves. We simply can't wait to return to this great little gem of a place.

Vintage
Sgwar Alban, AberaeronFirst visit and won't be the last. Superb food with great flavours presented beautifully. Interesting menu with plenty of choice and good value for the quality Our server was friendly and personable, able to offer advice on menu choices for food and drinks and all round did a great job but our drinks order was wrong twice which is a minus point but not one I'd take too much umbrage over.

Fish & Chips Aberaeron Llond Plât
7 Sgwar Alban, AberaeronVery nice fish and chips. Unfortunately all items seemed to be priced individually with no specials or deals unless sitting in. Not dog friendly in restaurant so restrictive for some.

Pam Lai
34 Sgwar Alban, AberaeronWow a gem of a Chinese thoroughly delicious.
Egg fried rice not greasy, chicken in black bean sauce cooked to perfection and you could taste the chicken also, spring rolls crispy and tasty and the prawn crackers are probably the best I've ever had.
Wife had a phenomenal beef curry with egg fried rice and chips, which fed us both and left overs.
Total myth about small portions great value for money.
Well done Pam Lai
