First time visit on the weekend, and was very surprised about the service and food .Average cost 2 meals and 3 drinks £40 meals were excellent and large portions. Will definitely be going back.I had steak pie, which was lovely and proper chips ,not this frozen rubbish, Wife had ribs which was so big ,she couldn't finish it,I would highly recommend this place.

Visited from Bristol yesterday for a family lunch. What a lovely village pub. I hadn't been there in over 11 years. Beautifully clean, great service, lovely atmosphere, staff all very friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. No complaints on the food side. Just one FYI, portion sizes are HUGE, we had to ask for a takeaway box ? we will definitely come back when we are in the Valleys again. I am looking forward to trying the Sunday lunch next time. Big thumbs up from us! Thank you.Just one tip : always ask for a table in the bar if there's one available as the extension / conservatory part has no atmosphere.Portion sizes are HUGE- so if you have smaller appetites, it's worth sharing a main. The kids' menu is a bit basic, so my boys aged 10 and 13 shared an adult chicken curry, which was big enough for them to share.

Visited the Red Cow on a recent trip. The pub was fairly busy and we had a warm welcome from everyone. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the menu had a good selection at reasonable prices. The food arrived fairly quickly and was well cooked with generous portion sizes.

Visited last week and even though food service was not beginning for another hour, the barmaid was very kind and had some chips made for us. Nice gesture and shows this is a good pub to visit Very scenic too! Highly recommend if in the area. Beers on tap were decent too.

I have visited this pub many times midweek and for Sunday lunch, the food is always amazing and good sized portions. Excellent value for money. It can be difficult to get the attention of staff when trying to get served at the bar due to some customers sitting here. I understand why customers sit there, but on a packed weekend I think they should be asked to keep the bar area clear given it’s only small. However this certainly won’t put me off returning.

Best Sunday lunch we have had, food was spot on and well cooked. Service was very fast and efficient. We will be back as soon as we can.
We stayed in Cwmbach and decided to go for a walk along the old railway line. We decided to visit The Red Cow for a drink and something to eat. They were holding a private function and were very busy, but still managed to fit us in. The meal was excellent and the staff lovely and friendly. The pub is also dog friendly.

Have visited this lovely bar/restaurant on a few occasions lately and every meal has been great. We have tried the gammon, steak pie, curry, and lamb. Steak pie is the best I’ve ever had. Real homemade chips too which is always a bonus.

Just returned from an epic meal here! The chicken curry is to die for! Beautifully presented too with plenty of accompanying sides. This has to be the best place to eat on Aberdare, no arguments!
