Lovely place. Outside is very dog friendly and owners are fantastic.

Could have great potential, was really happy to see they had lots of selection when it came to cakes so there was an option for vegans and people with egg allergies etc. However: for some reason everyone eating outside had to be served with polystyrene plates/paper cups?? This seemed to be a weirdly big deal for the owners because they'd printed off and laminated signs on EVERY SINGLE WALL saying "guests eating outside will be served with paper cups and plates". Kinda weird. It was windy so they kept blowing away/over, and polystyrene is so terrible for the environment. You just think why can't the people outside be given normal plates that can go in a dishwasher? Rather than non reusable stuff that has to be thrown away after? Oh yeah, we also had to clean up after ourselves/sort our litter into seperate bins---and there was a lot of litter because everything we ordered came on polystyrene.

The staff are lovely and so helpful. The pot of tea is huge. The latte was also delicious. We had the best teacake ever! It's really cosy and welcoming. Make sure you pop in.

Although I live in the area have never been here before but always wanted to. Yesterday a friend and I decided to have a mooch round Aberdyfi and visit the sales for bargains. To start our visit we had a light lunch in the Medina Coffee House, wow, Turkey, stuffing and cranberry panini absolutely gorgeous. Add to that one of the best tasting Mochas I've had in ages. Reasonably priced with lovely friendly staff I could see why it was full to bursting and promised myself another visit soon. I highly recommend this coffee house, well worth a visit.

Very friendly staff, food was delicious, the quiche was the best I've tasted. Definitely worth a visit, we will definitely be back ??

We had a sandwich was lovely and the bread was very fresh. The coffee wasn't delivered in a paper cup which was a little disappointing as I associate those with takeaways and this wasn't! The food was also on a paper plate. Didn't spoil the experience but if you're expecting more than just paper, then that's good choice!

This friendly 60 year old work experience lad found us a table, and gave us a menu (maybe 2 next time ?). Also note the special blackboard. Problem 1 - Quiche or salad ? Current spouse opted for a chicken salad. She constantly raved over the quantity and quality of the chicken. (What happened to not talking with your mouth full ?) But take it from me, she enjoyed it. Problem 2 which quiche ? It is not often you get a choice of 3? I went for the Mediterranean veg + Feta. I could happily have it again. The cake fridge is not for those on a diet. Just an impressive home made variety. It is a touch tricky to spot it down a narrow alleyway, but so worthwhile.

We used to love visiting The Medina, however having recently had lunch there it's not somewhere I'd hurry back to. I had a jacket potato with prawns and lemon mayonnaise for £7.95, it was luke warm, served on a paper plate no salad garnish just a slice of tired looking lemon. I don't see how they can justify the prices they are charging, and to add insult to injury they request that you clear your own table just like McDonald's!! The prices on the menu have risen dramatically, but the quality of the food doesn't reflect the increase. Serving food on paper plates if you sit outside is lazy and not very eco friendly at all, because if they have any grease or food stains on they're not recyclable! There has been quite a few nice new places to eat open up in Aberdovey recently so competition is tight, beware Medina don't get complacent people expect better value for money and better service.

Really nice food and people. No dogs inside but outdoors is sheltered and covered. Hard to find as it’s down a small alley way but worth looking for. Opposite the tourist info place

Clean enough cafe tucked behind the street frontage with breakfasts and a simple lunch menu. They need to learn that roughly chopped lettuce and a quartered tomato with no dressing a 'salad' does not make. Their policy of serving food on paper plates if you sit in the courtyard chafes against other businesses' more diligent attention to recycling. It is only 'ok' for the price.

Was on a family holiday in Tywyn and struggling eating anywhere due to my coeliac disease. Came across Medina and so glad that I did. Met Liz, who went above and beyond to make sure I could eat safely, from preparing everything from scratch and with different utensils to avoid cross contamination - sounds overboard, but with any trace of gluten causing extreme side effects I was so completely reassured. Their business card states “Gluten-free Available”, but ‘coeliac safe available’ is more like it. What’s more, the food was very yummy and wish I had found this gem earlier in my stay. Thanks Liz & Peter.
