“We had a meal here last night as a post wedding celebration.Firstly I'm glad I booked well in advance because the pub was very busy when we arrived. The atmosphere inside was lovely, we were greeted by more than one member of staff. The staff were all fantastic, young enthusiastic, very accommodating and punctual. The service was faultless as well as the food which surpassed expectation. I would not hesitate to return.Thank you x”

“We have visited "The Kings' on several occasions and have always found the ambiance, the food and staff to be first class. George and Sam were particularly lovely. “We had a great dinner here. My steak was excellent. The atmosphere is really nice. Upscale pub feel. Missed the five star mark just barely because the beer was kind of warm - as was the room we were in upstairs. Service was a little slow at the end of our meal. Otherwise top notch. Would certainly eat here again.”

“This place is no longer a backpackers hostel. It is now run as a place for homeless people who the local council place there. The pub, which is called the Great Western, is still open and is a great pub , it does serve some food but the choices are limited”

“Visited last week with a very ill friend who really too poorly to go out as having cancer treatment but really wanted to go to the Hardwick. We turned up late and my friend was unable to wear shoes, or appropriate clothes, so I wondered how well we would be received! The staff were utterly brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble, furniture was moved to make us comfortable, they were kind and helpful but unobtrusive too. Truly exceptional service. The food was excellent. Thank you so much.”
