Exceptionally nice place. Great staff. Very friendly. Vera is lovely. Coffee is out of this world. Brilliant location at the bottom end of town. Highly recommend.

Great café, quick service, run properly unlike modern café's with slow service. Food was tasty, staff very helpful, prices are fair. Happy to go there again whenever I visit Abergavenny.

Went there with clients. Must say, probably the best latte we've had outside the home environment in a long time. Well done to the owners.

Excellent service, friendly staff, good food, value for money. Gabriella (the owner) has a photographic memory and whilst it is a year since we last went (whilst on holiday) she remembered our specific choices on the breakfast menu and how we took our coffee; this we saw repeated time and time again with other diners. Gabriella also knows the difficulties of food allergies and food is prepared separately and staff are very ‘clued up’ on the menu.

Aww, God, I really don't want to do this. I have been to Luigi's many times - have always found it a perfect cafe with lovely, well cooked meals, and it has always been the go to place for us when we have some spare cash and fancy a meal out. Prices have increased which is completely forgivable and understandable considering the price of everything these days. Higher prices - no problems. On Saturday, I had the chicken curry, with rice. The price of this meal was £8.75 and, for that price - even with the increased cost of living - and with the reputation of Luigi's - a decent meal was expected. It was anything but that. It was a microwaved, ready-meal. Chicken so chewy, and the texture was terrible. The chicken was cut into rectangles that looked familiar. The texture was familiar. The taste, the awful awful taste, was also familar. Something was bugging me - then I realised. This was the exact same taste and as a Sharwood's ready meal I bought from a supermarket for £1.70 a week earlier. It was exactly that. I left incredibly angry, but didn't complain because it's always been a good place to visit. An incredible mark up of £7 for heating food that comes in a box. A meal that comes in at under 500 calories. Usually the meals there are substantial - and it would have been my one and only meal that day. Instead, I was cooking an evening meal about 2 hours later, defeating the purpose of me having a meal out. Like I say, I really don't want to give this place a low mark - maybe it was an off-day, maybe the cook was off work, maybe they are finding things tough financially. Whatever the reason, that was my last visit to Luigi's. Hopefully standards can get back to where they once were, but frankly I won't be taken for a fool twice. I could have literally eaten the exact same meal, in a faster time, at home and saved myself £7 and 20 minutes on the road. I am actually getting angry again as I type this. Cash and profit are clearly important to all businesses, but reputation is what keeps a business going. No doubt someone would eat the same meal and think it was well cooked and good value for money. If anyone does want the same meal, you are welcome to come to my house and I'll charge £3. So sorry Luigi's, but I am really really annoyed.
