We had a meal here last night as a post wedding celebration.Firstly I'm glad I booked well in advance because the pub was very busy when we arrived. The atmosphere inside was lovely, we were greeted by more than one member of staff. The staff were all fantastic, young enthusiastic, very accommodating and punctual. The service was faultless as well as the food which surpassed expectation. I would not hesitate to return.Thank you x

My wife and I went for an early dinner at the Crown at Pantygelli recently. The food was absolutely delicious. We shared a starter of salt and pepper calamari, which was beautifully presented and delicious. I then had the slow cooked beef cheek in red wine sauce which was sooo tender and flavourful, the red wine sauce was perfect and the celeriac puree was a delicious accompaniment. My wife had the chicken, mushroom & truffle pie with puff pastry, with tender pieces of chicken and tasty mushrooms in a creamy sauce. A lovely meal provided with excellent service. I can heartily recommend!

'Pub of the Month' in Delicious Magazine. Sept. 2023 and certainly pub of the year for us. We enjoyed a fantastic Sunday lunch in this idyllic setting with service that was outstanding; attentive, friendly staff with attention to detail and even a visit at our table from the fabulous chef. We cannot recommend this place enough. ✨?

Came here with a friend and the husband to have lunch. It is a little out of the way, but even on the day we arrived - it was cold, wet and miserable - somehow that all disappeared when you walked through the door.Welcomed by a lovely member of staff and we sat down with our menus. Notable point, they have a very accessible toilet, other places should pay attention!Ordered drinks and food, and both were excellent. We all went for the fish and chips - which was superb.If you are headed this way and fancy a good meal, pop in as you won't be disappointed.

We stopped at the crown after a nostalgic tour around the area..and we weren’t disappointed. The staff were really friendly and a great menu! Simple but delicious food cooked very well….and to top it all a fab location off the beaten track! Will definitely return.

Excellent. Mussels were from The Shetland Isles and first class. Lovely Chicken Liver Pate with Sourdough. Lovely spiced chutney. Steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I chose well, service was superb, friendly and attentive. You get what you pay for. Served by Owen, Millie and Freya who were lovely. Well done to the Team.

Can't recommend this lovely pub enough. Great service and friendly staff. Lovely selection of drinks and a great food menu. They also do pizza evenings in summer. A beautiful location with stunning views of the Skirrid from the pub garden.

Came here to eat on our Honeymoon, there initially was nothing vegan on the menu BUT when asking a colleague they were able to create something AMAZING from their existing menu. Honestly it was so much better than I could imagine! Trust me… try the blueberry risotto; you’ll be blown away!Food & drinks: Food was absolutely fantastic, I wouldn’t normally try but wanted to taste something new. I was not disappointed - the blueberry risotto was 10/10 - incredible!

My wife and I booked a Sunday lunch here en route to our holiday destination. We couldn't have chosen better! The location was great - very rural. The inside of the pub was tastefully and traditionally presented. The young girls who served us were excellent - friendly, attentive and helpful. The roast itself was very good - I'm not sure I've ever had so much beef on a plate! We had let the Crown know that it was my birthday, and the dessert came with a lighted candle! Nice touch and appreciated. If we were passing that way again we would very definitely return. Well done Team Crown.
