Came across this place as staying locally on a caravan site. So glad we did! Obviously lots of locals as it’s that kind of place, everyone super friendly once we introduced ourselves. We took our dogs who were spoilt with treats and water. Lovely cider and beer, has multiple lovely open fires and a nice cosy atmosphere. We had food which was traditional, hearty and appeared homemade. Fab little find.Only complaint would be the toilets are freezing!Food & drinks: Lovely! Home made, traditional food.

Good little pub in the middle of the village. Limited beer selection with a few ciders and lagers. I had liver and bacon casserole which was really good and my wife had the pie option which she enjoyed. Has a good garden for the summer but it was definitely inside weather when we visited and they had 2 log fires burning whilst we were there. Lovely church opposite.

We stayed in a cottage only 10 mins walk away from the Wheatsheaf Inn so it would have been rude not to try it out! When you walk in it is very much the archetypal old country pub, exposed wooden beams, log fires and friendly staff. I was very surprised and delighted they Salt session IPA on draught, a favourite of mine. We all ordered food from what was quite an extensive menu which also included pie's of the day and children's choices, being all cooked fresh it took a little time to come but when it did we were all very pleased the food was hearty and delicious well worth waiting for! Thouroughly recommend!

Staying in the village for a few nights. Had a wander over on the first night and was quickly made to feel very welcome by Debbie. Popped in most nights for a swifty for us and a treat for the dog who was also made to feel very welcome. A lovely country pub which, from what I can see I well run by a small but dedicated team. Can deffo recommend. Should I ever be back in the area I will absolutely call back in.

Can honestly say worst ever sunday dinner had. Pub also cold and damp. Staff doing best.

We turned up ravenous on Friday around 6pm after a horrid drive in terrible traffic. Thankfully they said yes to food and that food was delicious, fresh and hot. The fishcakes for starter and we all had pie and chips with mushy peas and gravy, I had corned beef and potato and they had steak and ale. Very filling, we'd have liked a dessert but if we were honest with ourselves, we had no room for one anyway. The lady was lovely and friendly, bringing my other half's second Guinness to the table. We would definitely return.

A beautiful spot for Sunday dinner. Really nice staff sorted us out for a booking at the last minute. Came back and had a fab Sunday roast, with some of the nicest mash I've ever had. Good veggie option, not just fake meat but actual food. Tasty puddings too. The Eton mess was especially good.So glad we found this village pub on our walk out. Enjoyed it so much we came back for a pint after our big walk.

Just had a Sunday lunch and I can't see what all the negative reviews are about. I get it that each visit is individual but the staff are very welcoming and the food it's great. We had the leg of lamb which just melted in your mouth along with various vegetables. It was all cooked to perfection. We also had our bestest boy Archie with us (he's a dog lol) who was very pleased with the treats from Debbie. The beer garden is a little sun trap (providing the weather plays ball, you can't blame the pub for that) and it's located in a lovely country village setting.
