I never write a review but this time i had to as I can't understand how they get such good reviews as I seen 2 other families put their food in the bin. I Ordered 2 x coffees and a tuna and cheese panni was told they would bring it out 10 mins later I went looking for it and they were sitting on the counter coffees were like hot water and the panni went to the seagulls tuna was paste and it was flattened to about 10mm thick in the toaster rock hard

An absolute gem! Amazing and best Welsh Rarebit freshly made followed by a scruffin with clotted cream and jam, sitting in the April sun - perfect!! Highly recommended and we look forward to having the opportunity to visit again soon.

?? I've been in Bangor for six months, and I came here nearly every weekend to have the best welsh food in town! Welsh rarebit is simply amazing, as well as seafood chowders, cheeseburgers and breakfast baps. Mrs. and Mr. Love are some of the nicest people I met in Bangor (they are great chefs, also), and eating delicious dishes on the pier with a lovely view on Menai strait and Snowdonia mountains is a priceless experience.Diolch yn fawr?? In the six months I have been in Bangor I have come to the Whistle Stop almost every weekend to eat the best typical food you can find in the city. The welsh rarebit, as well as the cheeseburgers and fish soup are fantastic. Mrs. and Mr. Love are two of the nicest and kindest people I've met in Bangor (as well as being amazing cooks). Eating sitting on the pier with a fantastic view of the Snowdonia mountains and the Menai Strait is truly priceless.

Visited whistle-stop on the pier and what a fantastic service. Food was top quality. Didn't wait long for order. The owners very very friendly and the guy was very entertaining. There was a crowd there of lovely people which was a good sign. I would highly recommend the whistle stop on the pier to anyone who will be visiting garth pier bangor.

Lovely location, excellent coffee, great views and friendly service - couldn't ask for more. The weather helped as I understand it can get a bit windy on the pier!

Perfect place for a Scuffin cream tea overlooking the Menai Straits, with Bangor on one side and Anglesey on the other. Really friendly service from the owners who make a great cup of coffee too!

Fantastic find on Bangor pier, we were walking to the end but stoped at this cafe because they had a lady talking all About all the houses and people of Anglesey which was extremely interesting We had Scuffin’s and cream and jam with a big pot of tea My dogs had doggy ice cream which they loved No need to go any further down the pier as this cafe had everything you needed The owners were lovely and friendly and made time to talk to all the customers I will definitely return next time we have a day trip to Bangor

What a great little gem of a find in the middle of Bangor pier, the couple running this little place are so welcoming and cannot do enough for you, the food was excellent and service fabulous, we were a little cold so was offered some lovely comfy blankets, we had the Welsh Rarebit and I must say it’s the beat I’ve ever tasted! If you’re visiting the area then you must visit this place for a little something to eat. My husband had the Scruffin, which is a scone which looks like a muffin, was homemade and tasted beautiful. Cannot fault this place.

Half-way along the Pier, this is a great place for a coffee and a snack (small or large). Friendly staff served lovely food at a sensible price. Plenty of seating and dog friendly. Would definitely go back next time we’re in the area.

Well worth a visit to the pier and this little gem. A clean, lovely little cafe selling delicious home made food. I had seafood chowder that was delicious and home made scuffin cream and jam. The hosts Billy and Judy made our visit very enjoyable and informative about history of the area. Well worth a visit the views are spectacular.
