We had two really excellent meals at the restaurant. We had the cod and it was cooked to perfection, We are glad we booked in advance as it is obviously very popular. Really good food and very friendly and efficient staff. Would certainly go back if we were in Barmouth again.

We booked this restaurant because we were staying in Barmouth on a Sunday and Monday evening when many places are shut. I'm so glad we did! My partner and I had an excellent meal on both occasions. The lobster salad was delicious and I had the lemon posset on both nights - heaven! The staff were both friendly and efficient and really added to the evening. We'll definitely be back.

Our booking was for a Thursday night and it is best to book early to get a seat. The restaurant is elegant and very upmarket but didn't disappoint. Has a rather conservative menu food wise but serves a wide selection of wines, gins and cocktails. Despite this the food explodes with flavour as I had the pesto encrusted cod. Caters for a variety of allergens including gluten and some dairy. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and definitely would go again either as a couple or with a small bunch of friends.

Great place, fantastic food, good location, staff were on the ball, no sooner had customers paid and vacated, the tables were set for the next customers very slick.

We had an excellent meal tonight. Really interesting and lovely looking dishes and superb service. Would recommend highly this place. I had hake with a cockle and larva bread coating and my friend had a stir fry. Then cheese, walnut and sultana plate drizzled with PX sherry and a rhibar trifle. Such adventurous dishes.

Fantastic food, great service and lovely setting in an old bank. Head chef and owner produces some brilliant dishes that wowed our party of 8. We will book again when we return to Barmouth.

Excellent dinner of Plaice Meuniere, Hake, Sirloin steak and a vegetarian ratatouille. Jubilee trifle slightly disappointing as although delicious, there was no fruit beneath the sponge!

We were very warmly welcomed to this super restaurant. It is quietly and tastefully decorated, with quality fixtures and fittings that strike you as you enter. The chairs and tables go well together and are very comfortable. This and the gentle jazz music make for a tranquil ambiance. The menu shows signs of an innovative and creative chef. It was difficult to choose as everything vied for my attention. An excellent slice of the chef's own bread helped me think. I chose the smoked duck as a starter. It was a gastronomic dream. Delicate tranches of duck breast with well prepared segments of orange garnished with neat dice of feta coated in a herb (Oregano?) and a dressing of pine nuts and pomegranate seeds. A super, creative, decorative and above all delicious dish to start a dining experience. My partner chose the roast chicken with an apricot and almond coucous, crispy bacon and a cider flavoured sauce. The chicken was nice and moist and the dish very flavoursome. Baked hake with a crisp herb coating was perfectly cooked. It was served on a bed of crushed new potatoes with sweated leeks and a cockle and a laverbread sauce which so complemented the fish. We finished with the lemon posset dessert with rhubarb..it was delicate, tickled the taste buds and finished the dinner perfectly. The restaurant manager set the whole scene off perfectly with her charming personality and first class customer care skills. The chef proved that he understands the delights of gastronomy and has the creative and culinary skills to match the task. We fully recommend The Bank as the best we found in town!

Booked a table for 1800 hrs as not sure how busy they would be, by 1930hrs there was only one vacant table for two persons left. We left at 2000hrs having enjoyed our three course dinner finnishing off with the Apple crumble for two wih ice cream and fresh home made custard, delish. The service was promt, efficient and very friendly from the two young ladies waiting on tables, excelent meal with no complaints at all. Having been impressed with the decor which really set the tone of their resturant which was well accompanied by some of our favorite tracks in music my only crit would be that their cuttlery just took the edge off the ombience, small thing but I thought it spoilt all the effort they had gone to with their decor. Thank you all concerned for a great evening.
