What a fantastic place. We were visiting Barry and stumbled across the bar. Thank goodness we did. From when we first walked in we were made welcome. The service and other customers were awesome. Then only downside was leaving, although we did have to be chased to pay as our card didn't go through the first time! Thanks for a great evening.

I noticed I visited this establishment a few years back with my partner and my attitude has changed to 1 star and it a shame it wasn't a half star.The manager is very rude and hates criticism online that's not professional in how to run a business to insult customers who give negative reviews, just like a certain MP of the VOG who deletes negative comments.If your a woman I would read the articles its in the Barry and district why he's in it for all the wrong reasons.

Visited Barry for the weekend from Lancashire, the Butterfly Collector was a real highlight. The customers where most welcoming and friendly, one of the customers we chatted to was a local brewer and I was having a pint of his excellent ale whilst we where speaking.The landlord was most friendly and I was a big fan of the table service and settling up for everything at the end .. . in cash :-)Cracking selection of ales and ciders uniquely dispenced. Excellent homely feel to the place, very interesting and different interior (in a nice way); I was a big fan of the artworks in the toilets.We will definitely be back and I have nothing but praise for The Butterfly Collector
