As guests at the hotel, we visited on our last night with no problems being seated without a booking. We both had starters and mains (steaks) and all good ordered was absolutely beautiful. We came away very full and very impressed.

From the moment we entered the restaurant to leaving the service was first class. The food was amazing too and there was a good selection of wines and drinks on offer. For main course I had the cauliflower and red pepper curry with wild rice, which was incredible. The decor and atmosphere were ‘old school’ and our whole visit felt like a wonderful step back in time to when values mattered. Thank you Hansoms. We’ll be back for another visit, next time we’re in Beaumaris.

The food was excellent but the service was poor unfortunately. The staff were very pleasant but just didn’t seem to know what they were doing. It wasn’t busy. They weren’t familiar with the menu and didn’t know what sides went with the meals when serving so we weren’t sure who should be eating what. I had to ask for the prawns that were missing from my meal. They came out after on a side plate. They had a dish delivered to a wrong table which meant they had to recook one of our meals. They should’ve recooked all of them so we all got our food together rather than one person waiting whilst everyone else ate. A shambles for a hotel restaurant. The food was excellent though so we’re going to give it another try and hope for a better experience.

Saturday night piano man was superb. Food excellent. Sunday roast beef even better. Can be tricky getting a spot in the car park, good luck!

We were looking forward to eating a meal (4 meals) but Joe Hughes in the black was so intolerably rude on two occasions we decided to eat somewhere else. He seemed particularly keen to repel anyone interested in spending any money. On a side note, thé tables outside were all loaded with empty glasses- there was no interest in keeping on top of things and clearing up. Baffling how little they wanted any guests.

I knew I wanted to try the Welsh lamb and what better way to experience this than for Sunday lunch? Although this is a hotel, the restaurant is open to all and is actually really good value for money. The lamb I had was superb with a unique flavour and so tender. It came with a variety of different vegetables with both roast and boiled potatoes, delicious gravy and of course mint sauce. Service was good too - all in all a really healthy and tasty lunch.

Excellent meal in a wonderful setting made even better by brilliant restaurant staff who were cheerful and charming would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment and most of all good value

Last minute booking and we were not really dressed for such a fine dining experience but it didn't seem to matter to anyone. An excellent Sunday lunch with the bonus of a pianist in the corner playing jazzy, classic pop tunes until at least 3pm when we left very full and happy. My lamb, which can often be cut thin and too fatty was like two pieces of fillet steak – very lean and tender. Good mix of vegetables and tasty 'new' potatoes (which I usually avoid) as well as the roasties. Husband's beef was also to his liking with a good Yorkshire pudding. Generous mackerel fillet starter which we ended up sharing.

Thought I'd book this as a special treat for our anniversary. Booked into the Llewellyn Suite, but were put in the grill.. presumably because there was only 1 other couple eating. Service was really poor.. especially trying to get drinks - which we had to request a number of times to be told that we'd have to wait! Bearing in mind the place was empty! My wife finished her main before the side of veg turned up. The food itself was ok.. such a shame that customer service appears to be an alien concept to this establishment.. there are plenty of good places in Beaumaris.. so I'd recommend steering clear of this place.

We both really enjoyed our first course of soup, followed by the main course of roast duck which was cooked to perfection.

First time to Hansoms, but won't be our last. Sunday lunch was proper old school, food was traditional and very enjoyable. The Service was excellent along with the surroundings, not to mention value for money. Great location.

We have just had the most lovely Sunday lunch! Table setting, ambience, service, food and entertainment by a classic pianist! Utterly charming setting and food was as good as you would want - italian meats/olives and freshly made smoked haddock fish cake with side salads followed by roast sirloin of beef (as good as it gets) with veg/sides/gravy/yorkshires. Undoubtedly full to the brim we could not resist the puds - gooseberry, apple and treacle crumble with custard and toffee and honeycomb cheesecake! We have been coming to Beaumaris for years but first time dining at Bulkeley given childcare commitments etc but this is our new discovery and go to place to wine and dine! Special shout out to our servers and pianist - thank you for making our visit special!

We popped in for morning coffee a couple of times. Very comfortable with nice views of the sea with helpful friendly service.

Staying at the Bulkeley Hotel in Beaumaris we had 3 breakfasts and 2 evening meals in the restaurant. The breakfasts were excellent, nicely cooked and well presented. Some of the best breakfasts we have had for the past few years. The evening menu was sufficiently varied and again the food was beautifully presented and very very tasty. The staff both in the mornings and evenings were friendly and efficient. We found the whole experience of dining here to be faultless.
