Had Sunday lunch here recently. Can honestly say this was the best Sunday lunch I have had in a pub or restaurant. Loads of food. Great value for money. There were 8 of us at the table. Nothing was to much trouble 10 out of 10 all round.

What a fantastic place to stay, room's a little dated but that adds to the fact you're in the middle of a national park and what a beautiful national Park at that. Wayne the proprietor of the hotel could honestly not do enough for you. Please if you find yourself in Brecon and want a traditional no frills hotel but with all the service as if you're a local and friend give this place a try,Wayne it was a pleasure to stay with you ?

Only went a couple times. One time didn't have any Ales. Which was disappointing.Room felt very empty and run down.We went back a few days later for food. Had Ale this Time the food was okay. Bit bland and dry.

Unfortunately the bathroom let this place down. Poor shower, fan not working and wash sink not properly cleaned.

Stayed here for a night as we had a wedding a couple of miles away, as there were no rooms left at the wedding venue. I rang up the host the day before and the landlady kindly said we could pick up the keys and leave our bags there at 10am, Which was great as we didn't need to take our luggage with us. Room was lovely clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was served from 8.30. This is the best breakfast by far we've experienced in a very long time that was piping hot and tasty. Plenty of choice Cereals, Fresh fruit, yoghurt and full English. The hosts were brilliant very welcoming, friendly and made us feel so welcomed. Would definitely stay here again. Once more many thanks.

One of several visits to eat and or drink, particularly to mention the amazing sunday lunch, the tablewas beautifully laid, the food was hot and very tasty, there was plenty of veg all in side dishes, the meat was available as a choice of 1 or for just £1 extra you could have mixed of the available choices, cant wait to go baxk for some more x

This was the only ensuite accommodation that was willing to take my wife, myself and little terrier bitch. I booked in and was shown a room on the second floor. The bar closed at 8pm no breakfast was offered. Returned at 9pm and the place was deserted as it was when we left at 9am next morning. My wife is a Stroke survivor so tapered stairs to 2nd floor very difficult to negotiate. 2* Room price at £80 with no breakfast included is expensive . My daughter stayed at the Castle at Brecon at £74 including breakfast they also take pets by arrangement, we will book there next visit to see family. Sorry Market Tavern you deserve your 2* rating.
