Noticed this off the high street and we wanted a quick start to the day - bacon sandwich and coffee - but didn't fancy one of the high street coffee chains. Very impressed - this would certainly be a regular stop for us if we were local, and if we return to Brecon we would certainly call in. Staff very efficient and pleasant, really nice environment, clean and well set out. Our coffee and sandwiches were delivered very promptly to the table, the sandwiches were really good, quality ingredients and well prepared. Coffee was also really good. Plenty of selection with regard to cakes etc. and only sorry I could not justify a cake to top off my breakfast!!! Very good value for money. Overall really impressed, a great find.

Nice environment and atmosphere. Good range of drinks. Tea was served in a teapot. Our choice of cakes was a bit disappointing; the coffee and walnut was very dry and the carrot cake was ok but tasted a bit sickly and shop-bought. We’ll try something else next time.

Had a nice lunch here. At first, I thought the baked potato choices were a little expensive...but, presentation / quality were very good, so it's an easy recommendation from us.

Best coffee/cake experience I've had in at least a year! I had a white cocoa mocha which was extremely good, a lovely creamy taste with a perfect balance between coffee and chocolate, especially good considering it was made with skimmed milk. My brother and I shared two tray bake cakes - the yoghurt & blackberry flapjack was INSANELY good and the dark choc millionaire shortbread delicious too. A fair number of treat options are pretty unique, and SUCH a lovely change from the dull, homogeneous experience in so many other coffee shops. Prices for coffee and tray bakes are only slightly more than average (though huge slices of cake seem very good value), BUT SO worth it if you really want a PROPER treat rather than just a coffee to keep you going.

Terrible bitter coffee, cakes so dry they crumbled to bits when cut with a fork, Over priced and very poor quality.

Worst experience of a coffee shop we've ever had. We stopped for tea on our way from Gloucestershire to Haverfordwest. The floor was dirty, my partner was given a cup with no saucer, nothing to stir his tea with and nobody told us we had to ask for sugar as it was held behind the counter. To top this, we returned to the car to find that I didn't have my mobile phone. I returned to the cafe and asked if a phone had been handed in. No was the reply. I was asked for a contact number in case it was handed in later. As all my contacts were in my phone I asked for their number so that I could call later. Another member of staff looked for their telephone number and then asked me if my phone was brown. So my phone had been handed in but the staff didn't share the information with each other. Absolutely dreadful customer service, will possibly never visit Coffee#1 again.

Popped in for coffee, ordering a cappuccino, latte (both regular sizes) and two scones. Quite astonished when told by the member of staff that the cost was £16.60 as when the said items arrived, the scones were awful! Poorly baked to the point, when the jam was applied, they fell apart ! The coffees were nice but the quality of the scones needs to be addressed, especially when so overpriced. On the positive side, the young lady who served us was pleasant.

A good local coffee shop with friendly and welcoming staff. Although it has a limited menu the quality is good and do wear expandable clothes if you try a slice of cake ?

Hi just came off holiday on the way home we stopped off in Brecon and came across this very lovely restaurant just off the car park . this place is very good on food and drink . The staff are very friendly and helpful which we will call back next time. the food is the best that hade for a long time. There is a lot of food for your money , the bread is so fresh, The place is very clean when you are have finished they come around and clean the floor tables . You do not have to wait so long to have your food has well like some places we have been . If don't believe me just go there and see for your self. Thank you Valerie and Graham from Worcester

I ordered a cappuccino & almond croissant neither of which delivered anything close to value for money. The cappuccino was reminiscent of the instant coffee versions at the lower end of the market & the almond croissant was more like a long bun filled with an unpleasant & granulated type of custard - it was even soggy at one end although whether this was due to it being served on a partially dried plate, I don't know. There were other items in my order which were acceptable however the spoons offered were stained & looked like they hadn't seen the inside of a dishwasher for a while. On asking for fresh spoons, we were met with indifference - no apology. Really guys, good customer service is easy but if you haven't got it, you haven't got it.

Relaxed and friendly staff, meals brought quickly even though they were very busy. Soup and panini quite good. Coffee pretty good.

Visited this coffee shop a few times Lovey place Younger staff very nice and polite But the manager/owner is the most miserable and rude man ever If your feeling down don’t go there as you will definitely feel suicidal after I think he need to go on a course of how to deal with front of house He reminds me of the kiddy catcher in chitty chitty bang bang Horrid little man

Nice coffee shop in lovely Brecon. Good range of cakes - victoria sponge was delicious, blueberry sponge rather dry. Savoury snacks were very limited for vegetarian options but the lentil and vegetable soup was tasty. Staff were nice but an older gentleman (I assume, the manager) was rude and lacked the demanour for front of house. Impatient, not a smile, plonking food on the tables and tutting at customers. Soured the experience - a shame.

So. I just popped into #coffee 1 Brecon. Early. One other person at counter. Two staff members chatting to each other behind counter. No sense of customer service. No sense that perhaps when people pop in for a take out before work. They may need a little speed on service. Waited 5 minutes. No acknowledgement. So I left and went to Costa. I got served straight away!

Whilst visiting my mum & step-dad in Brecon, we went for a drink at Coffee Box, in Brecon town. I had mocha frappe, asking for it to be made with skimmed milk, and my mum and step-dad had a cappuccino each. We were served by Emily, who came across as warm and friendly. My mocha frappe was the most flavoursome frappe I have ever tasted (and I have had quite a few in recent years at various coffee shops, cafés and restaurants). It was full of mocha flavour and also had the perfect silky consistency. My mum and step-dad were satisfied with their coffees too, saying that they were nice and hot, rather than warm (as they have experienced in other coffee shops, well known ones included. I will definitely be coming here again, when I next visit Brecon.
