Amazing food and friendly welcoming staff, set in a lovely location with 2 fires, would definitely recommend after a long hike, will be back for sure!!!

Don't judge a book by its cover. This pub doesn't look that special initially, but the food is amazing. Plus a stunning beer garden, and dog friendly.

Always nice to go back to a pub you love. And the star is high on the list. Always a cheery welcome and such a lovely atmosphere.I could and have spent many happy hours in the beer garden.Lovely home cooked food although we didn’t eat today. Will we be back?Of course we will. And looking forward to it already

Best pub garden and premises in the area, really good if you have kids. However, the food is super unpredictable. One week it's great, the next it's no better than a Wetherspoons. At the prices they are charging, the quality needs to be a cut above, and consistent, or they will lose any regulars.

Fantastic friendly pub, the food is excellent especially the home made pie.

Lovely beer garden overlooking the river on hot days, cider selection could be better though.

I went with my son and his girlfriend for lunch. Lovely setting delicious food and excellent table service in the beer garden. I would definitely recommend this pub.

Lovely pub with great beer selection in the heart of Talybont.Gets busy so book ahead for sure.Food great and well priced.Recommend if you're there visiting, staying or just floating nearby. There's direct canal path access as well as a decent free car park.

The food was exceptionally good, and the staff very very friendly! Also there were great vegetarian options. I highly recommend this nice pub!

Had lunch here, nice location - but the food is poor and the loud aircon (the inverter from the chip fryer or kitchen) is annoying in the garden. No table service. Looks like a nice old pub for a beer though, but that’s perhaps all. Poor attitude

Great pub by the side of the canal. Warm welcome and great food. Lovely garden. Couldn’t fault it. Don’t try the White Hart next door. She’s a miserable cow in there.

Amazing beer garden and great range of ales. Only one vegan option for food, but sort of to be expected in little rural villages. Chef was nice and explained everything well.Food & drinks: Great ales, one vegan food option.

Nice pub, good beer, bit tight on parking. Didnt get to eat here. Plenty of rooms and big tables.

Terrible for parking and even worse for properly cooked food… egg was so undercooked which ruined the dish drastically but gave it a try as everywhere else was booked up for the night so we didn’t want to kick up a fuss (food is food when you have little choice??‍♀️)- meat was ok but over cooked and dripping with oil and fat - fries were actually decent. Would not come back that’s for sure. Bar staff rude … asked for what kind of beers they had and they pointed to the dispensers which I wouldn’t have minded if there was not a row of people sat at the bar blocking me going around to look - place is too small really for the amount of people that were inside.
