We have visited twice previously and the food was amazing so we thought we would return to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. She was so looking forward to it as I had raved about how good the food was but how disappointed she was! She opted for the steak and it was probably one of the worst steaks she has had anywhere. Really poor quality and absolutely not worth the £32 we paid. In hindsight we should have sent it straight back. I should add the other meals were delicious.

This was our third visit to the Black Rabbit the previous twice everything was spot on but sadly this time we had problems with the steak meals which were very poor.

One of the best meals I've had out, I'm ultra fussy about food and service.Dietary restrictions: No a huge choice but they did cater for gluten free.Kid-friendliness: No special menu, but in a way that was nice.

Had a Sunday roast here and it's fabulous. Food is so tasty. Staff are so friendly.Only one problem, we sat at the big table near the door, so it was cold when other guests were arriving.Parking: Very good for parking .

Had a lovely meal here on Friday, the food was delicious, well presented and good value for money. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, cosy and has a great atmosphere. All of the staff we dealt with were extremely polite and friendly and really are a credit to the business. Will definitely be back soon!

Came here for a small family lunch our party included my 23 month Grandson. We all had the roast dinners each of us beef..cooked to perfection medium rare, lamb which my son said melted in the mouth and turkey which his partner much enjoyed. The Yorkshire puds were huge. The vegetables beautifully cooked, lovely roast potatoes and a dish of cauliflour cheese was also an accompaniment plus tasty gravy and plenty of it. The little one had lovely home made plump cod goujons, delicious home made chips and some of the vegetables. He is well into his training of eating at the table with his family, behaved impeccably and ate cleanly. I was amazed that he ate all his food he loved it. My son then wiped his hands and then our little lad made the young waitress laugh when he wiped the table. 'you can come again!' She said. We then enjoyed sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. It was a lovely meal. Very civilised and relaxing. The management even wrote me a very tasteful card.. A nice keepsake. Just a couple of things. There was no English Mustard which I love with roast beef. It was also a very cold day and my sons partner got a blast of very chilly air every time the door to the pub was left open..and some of the patrons were not very considerate on closing this door on their trips in and out...the toilets are in the pub. One or two of the waiting staff whilst well spoken and kindly find it difficult to 'work' the covers and keep track of requests. Trying to get drinks was as issue, 3 times I asked for a large glass of wine .....it was my birthday! My son was driving and wasn't drinking, my sons partner doesn't drink. The young table staff seem to forget these instructions and perhaps need more supervision or training ..this is not a big venue, they didnt seem short staffed. Our art society ate here at Christmas. The food was wonderful but again the dining staff were struggling and we were having issues trying to pay. But these are small matters since they are easily addressed since if all is well in the kitchen and the food is beautiful the rest is easily sorted. I shall definitely return.

Dined as a table of 5.Wonderful evening, food was truly superb.Basic, but very reasonably priced wine list. Inventive menu with all guests being impressed with he flavour combinations and standard of food.Service would best be described as wholesome - didn't match the standard of food, and the atmosphere but we have absolutely no complaints.Would recommend, and definitely will go back.Dietary restrictions: One guest was gluten and dairy free, they were transparent with what they could and couldn't have, but quite inflexible when it came to desserts despite being onformed upon booking a week earlier.

Went for lunch with my sister and friend to celebrate my sisters Birthday. The wine menu was reasonably priced, the menu though limited had something for all of us. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The desserts were amazing, particularly the sticky toffee pudding! Aimee our waitress was so friendly and couldn't do enough. She also had a lovely sense of humour. The only downside was the resteraunt was so cold. Despite being sat next to a small radiator, it was lukewarm and not giving out any heat. We did ask if the heating could be turned up but it wasn't. Would recommend and return but maybe in the summer!

Exceptionally flavoursome food. Amy, our waitress, was so friendly and attentive. Every dining out experience box ticked, with the exception of the heating. The room was so cold. Our request to turn on the radiator made now difference. Such a shame, took the shine off the overall experience.

Lovely food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, there was not enough staff on duty for a big party. Otherwise, perfect.
