The White Horse Coychurch was always a nice traditional country pub that served great beer and good food. Sadly over the last few years/owners the quality of food & service has deteriorated……..until now. Having seen the menu on a Facebook post we decided to give it a try. The place was warm, cosy and very inviting. We were shown to our table by our waitress Tia who was full of energy, enthusiastic and polite. Once seated the landlady came to talk to us, again she seemed nice and genuinely happy to see us. We ordered 2, 2 course Sunday lunches. The Brie parcels & garlic mushrooms to start were both delicious. The mains were Roast Chicken & Beef, again both perfect. The mains were served with Roast Potatoes, Carrots, Parsnips, Peas, Stuffing, Yorkshire Pudding, cabbage & extra gravy bowl. We will definitely be returning although with the quality of the food I can imagine Sunday Lunches will soon be “fully booked” very quickly. Lastly, and a nice touch, as we were leaving the chef asked us how our food was, again he genuinely seemed interested with our response. Great work everyone at the White Horse, we wish you well in returning this great pub to its former glory.

This is an amazing pub that I have been going to for years but the previous owner wasn't very welcoming to say the least. This isn't the case with the new landlord and land lady. The atmosphere in the pub has changed for the better and the food has improved no end. This is a real family pub that welcomes everyone. Went there for New Year's Eve celebrations that was well organised with a great atmosphere. Staff here are absolutely fantastic and can't do enough for you. I would highly recommend going here if it's just for a drink and catch up with friends, or a meal, I don't think you will be disappointed. Great staff, great atmosphere, amazing food.

We were a group of 14 for a family meal! The food was perfect & the staff made sure everything run smoothly, checking we were all happy & enjoying. Nothing could be to much trouble for the staff. All the food was very well presented & tasted amazing, the chef obviously takes pride in the food! We will definitely be returning! Thank you!

Visited the White Horse a few times, which have all been pleasant, until today.. Definitely wasn’t the friendly atmosphere we were greeted with on other occasions with previous owners. All seemed a little cold and unorganised. We asked the waitress if there were carrots in the lasagne ( as with previous owner, we knew it did, which isn’t to our taste). The waitress went and checked with the ‘chef’ and we were told “no, there aren’t any carrots in the lasagna.” My partner decided to then order the lasagna due to no carrots. The food then came, and there were indeed carrots in the lasagna, and plenty of them! We told the waitress about this and she told the chef who she said didn’t sound bothered as he’s “hard to talk to”. Lucky we don’t have any allergies! I think the chef needs to learn what a carrot is before serving any more (what I’m guessing is) ready made packet food. Disappointed and won’t be going back.

What a fabulous pub. lovely decor. The staff could not be more helpful if they tried. There were 14 of us for Christmas dinner and all our meals came out together, huge portions and lovely taste. All courses were outstanding. The service was just incredible too, they just Couldn't do enough for us. Would highly recommend.

The White Horse Pub's unfortunate descent since its change in ownership is a culinary calamity. Cold, undercooked meals now mar what was once a delightful Sunday feast, transforming the experience into a regrettable endurance test. The staff, once welcoming, have adopted an unpleasant mix of rudeness and pomposity. The saddest part lies in the stark contrast to the pub's former charm, now obliterated by the takeover. This establishment, once a haven, serves as a cautionary tale of misguided transformation, leaving patrons yearning for the bygone days of warmth and excellence. A regrettable parody of its former self, the White Horse Pub should be approached with caution.

My wife and I called into the White Horse for Sunday lunch. The food was excellent, with plenty of it. The meat was beautifully cooked, there were plenty of potatoes and vegetables all also cooked well. I am difficult to fill :-) but the amount of food was more than enough. The staff were great. It was all washed down with two pints of Brains SA. The price was also very fair. A really good Sunday lunch.

I was really disappointed with our recent visit. There was a larger table (of 8) who ordered ahead of us, which would explain the delay, but close to an hour isn't acceptable, in my opinion. Both of us had burgers. His was £16.50 for a double and mine was £13.50 for a single and added cheese. Both were advertised with triple cooked chips and luxury coleslaw. - The frozen burger was very poor quality and had a funny taste. - the ciabatta bun was burnt - the triple cooked chips were somehow undercooked, and a single portion contained about 12 chips - the luxury coleslaw came as a size of an egg cup We also ordered a side of cheesy garlic bread, which again was undercooked. With eating out currently being a luxury for most families, to go somewhere and be charged for sub-par and over/undercooked frozen food just isn't as easy to let go now. The servers were lovely, can't fault them.

New ownership has breathed fresh life into the pub already, despite only being here for just over a week so far. The food was exceptional, drinks were lovely, service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Would 100% return. In particular, I would recommend the fish and chips, as well as the three starters which we enjoyed- pigs in blankets, halloumi and nachos. All our food was delicious! Can’t wait to return and try more of the menu. Service was prompt, friendly and we were treated very well.

We had great food here - the Welsh curry and hanging kebab were particularly nice and the apple pie and apple and berry crumbles were great too. Service was prompt and friendly. We learnt that the place had changed hands recently. We hadn't been before but we'll definitely be back. Thanks.

The White Horse is great for a good valued meal. They accommodated us without a prior reservation for lunch. There were 6 of us. The staff were extremely friendly helpful and efficient. The menu has a good choice of food - something for everyone. We had dined there the previous evening and had a lovely meal - very tasty and nicely cooked. I would definitely recommend the White Horse for lunch or dinner.

Great Sunday lunch. The pub looks so clean and tidy now. Considering it’s the new owner’s first week there, things look as they are changing for the better all ready! Good luck! We will definitely be back?

The steak sandwich is stunning and up until today the steak pie deserved a Michelin star, but alas they have changed the steak pie, and unfortunately it deserves the dogs bowl, and the onion Rings turned up five minutes after I’d stopped eating the pie, I was offered neither an alternative or a refund, which having worked in the industry I would of refused, it’s not the chef’s fault, unless it was hand made, which it was not, but it is always nice to be offered

Lovely afternoon Sunday Dinner for 15. Friendly staff, great service and the Sunday Dinner was the best I have had in a long time…..I had Lamb and there must have been 10 different items on the plate. Great value too
