Mixed bag. Nice staff, beer good and cheap. 12 of us had great meals with no exceptions. The other 5 couples all happy with their rooms but ours was filthy. Basically hadn't been touched since whoever the slobs were who stayed there before us. All sorts of stuff on carpet and bathroom floor, toilet seat hadn't been lifted and was totally freshly stained with pee, food on the wall like they had been having a good fight, tea tray full of crumbs, blood on quilt.Cleaner had obviously not been in so probably a one off.

Spent the weekend at the hotel, friends of ours where getting married and had booked the whole hotel. Arrived on Friday afternoon met in the cosy, well stocked bar a good range of drinks on tap. Friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Rooms clean and tidy very well looked after. Breakfast was very tasty and filled me up, nothing was a problem for the staff. After the wedding back to the hotel where the food was delicious,no complaints from none of the wedding guests. Sunday morning again a great breakfast. All in all a great weekend at a great hotel.Would definitely recommend and visit again if in the area.

Six of us stayed here in March, had a good stay and were offered a price of £80 per room for a return so I booked the triple. Also offered was a choice of five or six differnt menu options (this was to get us to stay as we would be drinking lots of beer) There was only curries and chilli on the night and only one draught beer. When it came to pay I was charged £130 for the room I and a couple of mates stayed in. Most galling was that the room was £117 on another site. The owner reneged on the agreement and although she said she would `be in touch`. She hasn`t and has not replied to my e mails or texts. If you insist on staying here get the price in writing! We won`t be returning.

We went here for Sunday lunch which we assumed was a carvery, we were told that lunch was beef which was fine and was served straight from the kitchen. A sort time later another party arrived and they were offered beef and chicken!!! The meal was served in a timely manner and was of good quality apart from the Yorkshire pudding which was like cardboard. The meal was priced right for what meal was.

We called here on the way to our holiday destination on Friday evening. We were warmly welcomed and were told that they served food. Delicious it was too. Cottage pie and vegetables for me. My husband really enjoyed his chicken, ham and leek pie accompanied by some chips which I can vouch tasted delicious. We thought we had come to a pub but it is a hotel. It wasn’t very busy so if you are in the area I suggest that you call in.

This was a great find. The hotel offered everything we needed. The people working there were very friendly and helpful. The full breakfast the following morning was spectacularly good.
