The Fountain Inn
7-9 Broad St, Builth WellsAfter having spent a lazy morning doing a whole bunch of not much, we decided that we'd head out for some lunch. Unfortunately, most of the pubs near us on a tuesday are closed at lunch! Not the Fountain Inn though.Having looked at the menu online, I found that they did an all day breakfast which was perfect, even including the option for beans OR tomatoes (beans obv) and toast or fried bread (fried bread of course). We immediately set sail to the town and parked up behind the pub, got in, ordered and sat down.Breakfast was swift arriving, hot and very nice. The combination of saute potatoes and hash brown was weird, but went with it. I'd like to have had an option for black pudding but there was plenty without it.It did include a coffee/tea which we weren't asked about and so never received but we had other drinks anyway and weren't that fussed about its omission. All in, it was a great ltitle pub with great drinks selection, great food selection (deserts looked awesome!) and we were pleasantly suprised with the price (something similar back home would have cost £3-4 extra PP)Thanks!

The Barley Mow Public House
Barley Mow Hotel, 1 West St, Builth WellsDespite the very unassuming appearance of the pub from the outside, the food exceeds all expectations. A lot of care was put into the preparation of all our dishes. Really glad we booked our one night's meal in Builth Wells at The Barley Mow.

The Pheasantry
Caer Beris, Builth WellsThe Pheasantry was perfect for our family of 9, ages...7 to 75. It's set in a very large, beautiful and well established garden with many trees and shrubs. The house is 2/10ths of a mile in from the main road making it peaceful and private. We found the house to be spotless. There wasn't a single thing that we needed to clean. Absolutely faultless from top to bottom. We loved the homemade cakes and generous provisions in the fridge, including bread and jams. If there is a need to contact David, the owner, he will return your message immediately. No scratching around for a responsible person. We simply had the best week and with the pool table , piano, a games room well stocked with good quality games and jigsaws, a large bright library, jacuzzi and table tennis, there really was no need to leave the Pheasantry. However, it's only a 15 minute walk into Builth Wells, which is a well stocked and interesting town on the river Wye. A big thank you to David and Caroline, the owners, for their part in ensuring their guests have the best experience possible.
