Disappointing! - after a short walk into town we went there expecting to be able to be served food, as advertised outside, only to be told they weren’t serving food that evening. Can’t recommend food, as we didn’t get a chance to try it! Can’t give any stars for food, service or atmosphere, as we weren’t able to experience it!

After having spent a lazy morning doing a whole bunch of not much, we decided that we'd head out for some lunch. Unfortunately, most of the pubs near us on a tuesday are closed at lunch! Not the Fountain Inn though.Having looked at the menu online, I found that they did an all day breakfast which was perfect, even including the option for beans OR tomatoes (beans obv) and toast or fried bread (fried bread of course). We immediately set sail to the town and parked up behind the pub, got in, ordered and sat down.Breakfast was swift arriving, hot and very nice. The combination of saute potatoes and hash brown was weird, but went with it. I'd like to have had an option for black pudding but there was plenty without it.It did include a coffee/tea which we weren't asked about and so never received but we had other drinks anyway and weren't that fussed about its omission. All in, it was a great ltitle pub with great drinks selection, great food selection (deserts looked awesome!) and we were pleasantly suprised with the price (something similar back home would have cost £3-4 extra PP)Thanks!

what a joke, just came in here last tuesday after a 10 hour shift in the cozy corner. I was enjoying my ice cold bee and out of nowhere like a missile a dart comes flying out of nowhere followed by a cheesy chip. I looked to see where it came from..... it was a small taned boy who would not stop saying sorry sir. I picked up my beer and left to the other side of the pub but then a strange woman with a fag in her mouth spat at me. disgusted. was i in the wrong. i would like to be compensated.Kid-friendliness: opposite of kid friendliness

Wow, wow, , how disappointing! If you’re looking for a quality roast/ carvery then this place is definitely one to avoid! The roast meat was good, that’s where it ends the one roast potatoe was cooked the day before and clearly warmed up, at first I was mythed as to a roast with only one potato, but I now realise it was a blessing! The other veg on offer carrots, peas and cauliflower was also disappointing, although this was nothing compared to the elderly gentleman who was sat at our table when we did retuned and decided to stay and eat with us the awkwardness could not be understated honestly could not make it up…

This is a regular stop for breakfast on the way to Cardiff. Service is always quick and food is good value for money. Bonus if you manage to park outside as well.
