Hi all, this has been bugging me for a while and I have had to let people know this. I used to work at The Bell Inn Caerleon. That place was such a toxic place. I had the people working there come up to me and tell me that the manager, Rickie, would make racist and homophobic comments and I would hear him speak them in the kitchen. I think it's absolutely disgusting and disrespectful the things l'd hear him say and he never treated his staff with any respect. I’m sorry but this had to be said. Don’t give your money to disgusting people like them.Shame on you The Bell Inn.

Beautiful pub, disgraceful treatment of young staff with homophobic and bullying comments. Don't go there if you don't fit with what they consider to be the 'norm'. I won't go there again out of principle

Lovely location, would never go back due to the horrendous atmosphere. Male workers publicly shouting at their teenage staff, overheard homophobic and racist comments from said workers. Shouting and arguing amongst themselves. Totally unprofessional and not worth the hassle. Much prefer The Bull!!

I haven't visited since it changed hands during lock-down but I wish I had! The previous lardlords had a reputation for doing seriously good food and it looks like that is continuing. I have been twice in the last few weeks and both meals were utterly exceptional; far better than even their main rival in this location, The Priory. My new favourite local place to eat by a long shot.

Spent a lovely Sunday afternoon eating and drinking with friends here. Even better they had a fab guitarist and bongo Pete playing who were brilliant and very funny. Food was amazing and can’t wait to come back for more.

Stopped here after racing at Newport Velodrome, what a find! The food was fantastic, every dish we had looked like a lot of thought and creativity had gone in from the chef. Ribeye steak was great. All of the staff were very friendly and I learnt what Hispi was! We will definitely be back.

Popped in for a fantastic Guiness and sat by a roaring fire. Could have easily spent a long boozy afternoon there. I’ll be back!

Popped in for lunch on way to watch Newport County v Eastleigh FC in the FA cup game. We were met with an exceptionally friendly welcome. All food was outstanding. Definitely memorable. Service and food were epic..
Liver and onions was good but not quite five star standard.

The food was nice and hot , however, the portion size was minute, I feel a part of a leaf of savoy cabbage I slice of carrot and 1 slice of parsnip is hardly adult portion size, if I’m honest I was waiting for the vegetables to arrive separately. Staff were very nice friendly helpful. Value for money no way, went to coach and horses at Caerwent had almost identical meal other than plenty on the plate and much better value for money.
