High St, Caerleon, NewportHad lunch here with a friend recently.The service was good and the food was lovely.I am vegetarian and opted for the panini with ricotta and roasted aubergine.The portion was a good size and included coleslaw and crisps.Delicious and fresh.Great coffee too.Will definately return soon.

The Bell Inn
Bulmore Rd, Caerleon, NewportI haven't visited since it changed hands during lock-down but I wish I had! The previous lardlords had a reputation for doing seriously good food and it looks like that is continuing. I have been twice in the last few weeks and both meals were utterly exceptional; far better than even their main rival in this location, The Priory. My new favourite local place to eat by a long shot.

Fresh Start
37a Goldcroft Common, Caerleon, NewportWent to get food and had the pup with us, asked if it was ok for her to come in, which they ladies said yes. Got a lovely baguette and the most amazing nutella brownie. Will defo be going back!

Hanbury Arms
Caerleon, NewportWent for a family meal was unsure about the car park with my blue badge so went in enquire the lovely member of staff came out into the cold with me and did it for me and then refused my money off the bill. Lovely service and even better food.

29 High St, Caerleon, NewportLovely place, great coffee and snacks. The only downside is the amount of dogs in there, especially sat up on the nice couches. Shame really, busy days stinks of dogs too. (Not the owners fault but more of a sign of the times sadly)

Ponthir House Inn
Ponthir, NewportI didn't have food so I can't comment although what I saw looked lovely, we visited at around 14.00 so I assume that was the lack of atmosphere, beer was great and service was great and dogs are very welcome.

The Red Lion
Backhall St, Caerleon, NewportHaven’t visited Red Lion for a number of years as the standard had dropped but decided to give it a chance again and we were not disappointed- a wonderful evening great service and staff so pleasant, really nice live music and we decided to have dinner - the whitebait was awesome and great value. We will return for sure.

St Julian Inn
Caerleon Rd, Caerleon, NewportFirst time in to meet up with friends. Proper pub, good beer and friendly staff. Pool table, darts board and large lounge. Would definitely pop back for food and visit in the summer to soak in the views of the Usk.

Coldra Wood, The Usk Valley, Chepstow Rd, NewportLovely hotelFood was nice however very pricey for what it is (we dined in pad) maybe we should have tried the steak restaurant.Lacks in atmosphere- no music as such And staff in most dining areas very straight however very helpfulRequested two drinks at lounge bar in the manor and was brought extra drinks that wasn’t requested but they were in fact on the bill so we just drank them.Room was lovely but very loud drill sound started at 6am and continued on and off for two hours. We felt very tired leaving.Breakfast was lovely and so much choice
