We had a nice stay; however, there were some issues.Firstly, the signature rooms are nice but dated and probably need a spruce up. More importantly, for the amount the rooms cost, the signature lounge is disappointing. You get tea, coffee and some snacks but, compared to a Hilton or Marriott lounge, it's pretty poor (they provide better drinks and a better range of food). We were also really disappointed by the condition of the Roman Road golf course. The greens were in good condition but the fairways were ridiculously wet. Obviously, we had had lots of rain so expected it to be wet but we must have lost a dozen balls simply because they plugged into the mud and we couldn't find them. The course should have been declared unplayable - I would have walked off after a few holes had I not travelled so far and paid so much! Finally, my sister-in-law, who has significant mobility issues, had to walk up and down more stairs than necessary to get to the cellar bar and had to wait ages for a lift as one was out of use. This hotel and resort could be amazing but I feel it fell way short for our stay.In future, we'll probably stay in Cardiff and drive to other, better golf courses!Rooms: Signature rooms - nice size but a bit tired. The cleaning staff were lovely!Food & drinks: The child's burger portion is exactly the same as the adult but half the price!

Lovely hotelFood was nice however very pricey for what it is (we dined in pad) maybe we should have tried the steak restaurant.Lacks in atmosphere- no music as such And staff in most dining areas very straight however very helpfulRequested two drinks at lounge bar in the manor and was brought extra drinks that wasn’t requested but they were in fact on the bill so we just drank them.Room was lovely but very loud drill sound started at 6am and continued on and off for two hours. We felt very tired leaving.Breakfast was lovely and so much choice

Just came back from a 2 night stay at the Celtic Manor with my partner, we absolutely loved our stay. The staff in particular were friendly and attentive. From the staff at the spa, to the bar staff and even the lovely lady in the business centre. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Overall really nice hotel and we had a lovely evening and ovenight stay.Rooms: Our room was a bit tired and could do with some tlc.Food & drinks: Food and drinks were great and the staff friendly and efficient.Noteworthy details: Our package included champagne in our room but it wasn't there on checking in. Waited for a while as thought they might bring it but had to phone and ask in the end. There appeared to be problems with the car park barrier on checking out the following morning. Queue of cars and looked as though everyone had to press the help button to be able to exit. One of the lifts wasn't working which resulted in sometimes long waits.Downloaded the app to check in but it didnt work.

Had afternoon tea at the Celtic Manor, unfortunately the service was dreadfully slow. The savouries were great but the cakes were awful. Staff were very polite.

My stay was a much awaited for break. The hotel is beautiful as soon as you drive into its grounds. The reception staff were excellent, the rooms were clean and our view from our room was beautiful ?. The only down side was the Olive Tree restaurant as at various points during breakfast and dinner we had to wait for food.

We stay on a regular basis at Celtic Manor. The location is exceptional, easy to get too and in beautiful grounds. The quality of the rooms has always been high. We stayed on the sixth floor which has its own lounge, restaurant for dinner and breakfast and the service here is exceptional. The main bar in the hotel is a lovely place to have lunch and drinks but the service is very poor even when it’s quiet. Service in generally slow and painful to get drinks and the use of bar codes for a menu isn’t what you would expect from a 5 star resort. But the quality of food and drinks is excellent. The pool and spa is excellent generally but the chlorine levels are very high in the Jacuzzi. It causes coughing and sore eyes. When we complained we were more or less dismissed.Overall the hotel is an amazing place to spend a weekend or night. One major area for improvement should be there IT. The Celtic Manor App and website and incredibly poor from a user experience perspective. Some investment in a UX designer and feedback from customers these areas would go a long way.We will be back of course !

Only issue was that with only 2 out of 3 lifts working, Waiting times for lift were frustrating.Rooms: Decent room.Nearby activities: Archery & Axe throwing.Walkability: Lovely grounds to explore.
