I came here for a socialise and catchup as I haven't been here since the new takeover and landlord. It was an 80s music night, and there were a few people dressed up for the occasion. I thought staff were very friendly and accommodating. Music was good and good vibes and atmosphere ?

So there's a lovely children's park right opposite this pub. In the day time (when the pub is likely empty or with few customers) parents used to bring their children to the park and use the car park. It was never full as far as I could tell. Now the lovely owners of the pub have put in place charges for anyone using the *empty* car park. Not just evening times but all day.Great community engagement by Lewis Arms. Make it harder for kids and parents to use the park.

I came in for dinner, the place was grubby and dirty and there was a lump of hair in my food. Even prior to that the food was greasy and unappetising. Avoid at all costs! I should have gone with my gut when I walked in. Will never go there again ?

Avoid this pub! They use a parking company that send you a charge of £100 if you park in their car park! What a way to treat paying customers! Staff do not tell you about logging your car reg.! Why would you do that as a business? I'm surprised they have any stars at all on their reviews.

AVOID THIS PUB!!!No signage outside saying that parking is monitored by camera! No sign saying that you have to enter reg in pub!Went in pub to have a drink, no where in the pub does it say to enter reg! No staff informed me that reg needed to be entered.Reg machine is apparently around back and when I was there the back was closed off so no chance at all I would even see the reg machine.Just had £100 fine in the post that I will NOT be paying!!

£100 parking fine for innocent mistake thinking it was free on Sundays. The pub should listen to all these terrible reviews about similar situations and make sure their experience is a bit more welcoming. It may not be directly their fault but they must do something about it as the car park is linked to them

Do not park anywhere near this property. I didn’t park in the car park yet still managed to get a fine for parking on a neighbouring street with no signs! The fine was £100 for 20 minutes when the pub wasn’t even open. The fine goes straight to the pub so it’s obviously been set up as a profit maker. Avoid this place or risk getting scammed.

Camera parking outside with basically no signage that the staff don’t tell you about and the registration for is hidden at the back of the pub. It will be the most expensive pint you ever have.

I am in my 60's and I can honestly say, without a doubt that I have never, in all of my life ever met anyone that I dislike enough to recommend this establishment to. When I entered the first thing that hit me was the smell !!! very unpleasant, sort of flowery chemically smell, not sure if it was toilet cleaner or carpet cleaner, but it was awful! I was the only customer. I had a glass of wine....it was so good I left it on the table. I would have not bothered to do a review of this place, it was so unmemorable and mediocre it did not deserve a review, not good enough for a good review and not bad enough for a bad one but! The barmaid was bored, sat on a stool with nothing to do, but serve me...so you think she would have mentioned that you have to put your car reg into the console, wherever it is hidden!!!! I suspect they do not encourage that sort of behavior, as probably the only income this pub gets is from parking fines. £3.10 for a glass of battery acid and £100 to park. (that's the twist) Lucky for me, I was working, so I got a receipt and was therefore able to prove that I was an actual customer and got the parking fine cancelled. But even so, it still leaves a bad taste in the mouth, literally!.

My partner and I recently visited the Lewis Arms for a few drinks of an evening. I am not even sure where to start! The first round of pints tasted of line cleaner. The staff behind the bar got annoyed when I politely mentioned it, the gent behind the bar was clearly intoxicated which we thought was a tad unprofessional and off putting! For such a lovely area it’s full of aggressive drunks! And don’t park in the car park unless you remember to put your reg behind the bar or the conman of an owner will pocket 80£ off you. A really disgusting pub for such a lovely area. Will never be returning and will insure all my friends and other mums at the school run know to avoid!

Absolutely terrible experience. Never again. Would give zero star rating if I could.

Good pint of Guinness as usual from this friendly local pub.
