Visited 25th September 2023. The landlord was very friendly, and the pub was clean, tidy, and welcoming. We had a pint of Guinness and white wine, the Guinness was excellent. This pub is well worth a visit.

Great pub with an excellent beer garden and warm/friendly indoor space.

Nice traditional dog friendly pub, chatty landlord and a couple of good real ales.

Breaking a walk to have a sneaky pint, called into this place as a half way point. Disturbed the bartender (possibly landlord) hoovering. He was happy for us to come in. Dog friendly. Excellent pint of Double Dragon and a coke, with change from a fiver, which is a first on this trip. No food so can't comment, and we were the only people there (it had just opened), but a pleasant welcome and good real pint

Called in here for a drink whilst staying in the village. The beer seemed to be kept well and the staff very friendly.

I'm a bit confused about all the positive reviews here (indeed we decided to eat here on the basis of the reviews). I don't enjoy writing negative reviews but this was not a food pub at all. We visited on a Sunday. There was no menu and we were told there was only a choice of either roast beef or roast chicken. Nothing else was being served. The meat was ok but the vegetables tasted either over cooked or as if from a frozen bag. The bartender was not particularly friendly or welcoming and he didn't seem happy that we were ordering food at all. Admittedly we had not booked but were asked to come back an hour later despite the pub being fairly empty both when we first arrived and when we came back. The pub itself is pretty run down and not a very nice environment. It wasn't terrible but definitely worse than simply unexceptional.

Popped into the Cardiff Arms for a cuppa after visiting the castle. They were serving lunch and there were 14 of us but they were happy for us to only have drinks. Really friendly. Diolch yn fawr iawn ?

Called in for lunch after a rainy visit to the castle! The food was faultless. kids - chicken goujons were pieces of breast and lovely, vegetable lasagne was divine, homemade tomato soup perfect and the bacon egg and chips delicious!!! Would recommend without question!!! Definitely worth the visit!! ?
