Never been to a Greek restaurant before and couldn’t have picked a better place to go. Excellent

We dined there last night and we loved the ambient setting along with fantastic service. The food was absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended indeed. Ill definitely return.

Failed to get good out within 3 hours even though preordered. Not the first time we've struggled with waiting

The food was delicious. The staff were lovely and friendly. Definitely recommend ❤️

After reading some of the reviews I was sceptical about trying Mythos, but I went last week for the first time and I'd happily go back again very soon! The food was really tasty (I had the vine leaves, lamb chops and greek rosé - all good) and came in large portions, and the service was very good - the waitress who served us was polite, helpful and enthusiastic. I'd definitely recommend it and I'm glad to hear they're opening on more days from now on!EDIT - Since first writing this I've been back a couple of times and while it's a lovely atmosphere with good service, the food is very hit and miss. I've had 2 fantastic meals there and also 2 really poor ones - for one I was served a pork skewer which was really undercooked, which worried me.Vegetarian options: There were loads of veggie options for starters and a couple for mains - not a huge amount, but for pescetarians there were also quite a few fish options

I had a really lovely meal here last night, with my family. Good traditional menu and all food cooked from fresh ingredients. The tzatziki was there best I've ever eaten. Lovely atmosphere and kind and attentive staff. I would highly recommend.

We visited 3 years ago and had a really lovely meal and the service and atmosphere was spot on. It’s a lovely building and very well decorated. However we revisited last night and to say it was really disappointing was an understatement. We arrived at 1830 and the restaurant downstairs was quiet. We were seated and drink and food menus were brought over. The waitress explained there were a few cocktails missing and some dishes missing from the menus. We ordered drinks and were left to look at the food menu.20 minutes later I asked her to come over so we could order food and asked about our drinks. She explained that the bar staff would not arrive until 1900hrs.My short cocktail then arrived with a very long straw.. I asked for a short one which seemed to put the waitress out a bit and she explained she’d have to cut one in half which I said was fine no problem.Starters arrived not to long after and it was lovely, very nice calamari with olives and pitta. At around 1945 we were told that we would still wait for our main due to a large table upstairs and that the chef was on his own. 2025hrs our main arrived. This is a substantial wait for a main, my arrived the lamb chops and it looked nice, I asked for some vinegar which arrived in a small dish, she apologised and said that the pourers were all dirty! my husbands mixed grill was cold. He ate the rather small lamb chop and also found an item missing from his mixed grill. Then kebabs were stone cold.We asked the waitress over an explained and she took it back to the kitchen, she was gone a few minutes and came back and said you’ve eaten most of it so we can re heat the rest. My husband tried to explain that he’d only had the chop and an item was missing and she dismissed him.We explained we were happy to pay for the rest of the meal but not his as it was as described and it was cold. She walked away from the table and returned a few minutes later and threw the bill down and said I’ve taken £10 off. And walked away.I then had to go to see her to ask to see the manager. The manager came over, we explained that we were happy to pay for the rest of the meal however not the mixed grill. She explained that the chef was stressed due to being on his own and they had a large party upstairs and her staff were not highly trained. She explained that the meal would have been reheated in someone else’s juices in their mixed grill and not microwaved. She deducted the mixed grill from the bill which was appreciated.I feel that this could have been avoided, a large pre booked party and also continuing to take booking means you might need some more staff. It’s the little details that make coming for a meal a good experience. 3 years ago this place was great, now not so much. We wouldn’t revisit. Better value for money, and better service else where.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, but the food is terrible and is the quality you expect from a cheap kebab house, bad quality meat, salad is literally tomato without the core cut out and the feta is very cheap. All in all it was just completely bland and if a Greek or cypriot ever tried there dolmades they would be embarassed. And worst of all they don't sell keo ?. When explaining to the waitress about the meat she advised the meat wasn't a good cut which is fair enough but why are they serving it ? Will never visit again sadly

Did a great job of preparing gluten free food for my wife. Service took a while but they had to cook it from scratch to avoid gluten

Mythos is a terrific restaurant in Chepstow with fantastic food. I've been here twice, enjoyed both times, and would definitely come back here again. As you can see from the photos, the atmosphere in this place is outstanding. The decor is fabulous and it's got a lovely feel to it. The only downside is there is very little heating, so last time I went for a Christmas do it was very cold and freezing. The food was great and the meal warmed us up, but I definitely wouldn't try this place in the Winter again.Customer service was good. Nothing out of this world, but the servers are attentive.Food-wise is where this place shines. I highly recommend going for the Meze for 2 people, where you get a selection of different goodies to try out. It definitely fills you up and is well worth the money. Don't sleep on their Moussaka or Kleftiko, both absolutely delicious dishes that I would be coming back for.

Delicious and excellent valueFirst time and will definitely be back again. Great choice of food on the menu - particularly for those with dietary restrictions. Really yummy cocktails. We went for a meze/tapas approach of multiple small dishes (starters) and shared them between us which proved a really good choice. Overall, exceptionally positive and delicious experienceDietary restrictions: One of our party is fully gluten free - they loved Mythos as there was so much choice for them AND they were provided with delicious grilled gluten free bread whilst we had the pitta.

Visited this place 6 years ago and promised myself won’t go again. But for my own misfortune decided to visit again in June 2023 hoping it has changed for the better. I was utterly disappointed. Half of the menu was not available. Food smelled bad as it arrived at our table and everything is rather grubby like old people’s home. Either run it as a drinks place or as a restaurant. Please don’t run both half heartedly. The place has huge potential.
