Visited the Shangri-La Chinese as a couple for a Friday night meal out although I wasn’t wowed by the food I have to say it was plentiful tasty and authentic we decided to start with the lettuce wrap which was tasty and plentiful and very well presented with for lettuce leaves freshly washed and presented very nicely and very tasty we then went for the garlic prawns with celery and the Mandarin fillet beef both of which came piping hot fresh and again very very tasty in all it was a lovely meal and a lovely evening out and the only reason I haven’t given five stars for the Shangri-La as I thought it’s just a little bit of atmosphere but the food is fantastic tasty and authentic and I’ve since been back for a takeaway which I have to say wasn’t quite as nice as the restaurant but was still a welcome addition for tea so to summarise if you’re ever in Chepstow you fancy some Chinese Shangri-La is the place to be

Loved it here. Warm welcome. Fantastic service throughout. They were great with the children that were in the restaurant too. Had Malaysian Goreng which was delicious. The Sauvignon which I had to accompany worked very well with the meal and was delicious top They are very popular which does not surprise me so booking is recommended. I hope to visit restaurant again when next in Chepstow.

Better than average Chinese with excellent allergy information, tasty good food and great customer service. We had a lovely evening meal with older parents and my ASC kid. Our waitress had patience as I explained my kids food requirements and double checked with the kitchen to make sure. This is always appreciated. The atmosphere was quiet with inoffensive pop hits playing in the background. It did get a little noisier as more people sat down to eat, but this is too be expected. Definitely a welcoming and friendly environment for all of our needs. There was a fantastic allergy information sheet at the back of the menu, including ones which could be removed while being prepared. This made it super easy to find the vegan options, and there were loads! I think a lot of other establishments could do this. There's a wide range of dishes, and something for everyone who likes Chinese food, including some dim sum, and mock, soya based meats. I also liked that there was a range of vegan dishes with out tofu or mock meat. Sometimes we just want some healthy veggies! When our food came out it was piping hot, and in suitable quantity to feed us all. My only wish is that my tofu in black bean sauce could have been a little bit spicier! However this is totally a personal taste thing, and not a big deal. There wasn't one dish we didn't like.I have to admit, this city slicker was impressed to find Chinese food with even more vegan options and info than some of the places back home in the hippie capital of the UK (Brighton!). Thank you for a very pleasant evening.

Popped in whilst on a one night stay in Chepstow. Friendly staff, and extensive menu. Food was good, and my wife who is Gluten intolerant was well looked after…even the chef came out to check ingredients with her. Great to see, and also confirmed food was freshly cooked. Overall a very good meal, only reason knocked a star off because restaurant was chilly!,Worth a visit if you fancy Chinese food in Chepstow..
