We had a warm welcome from the young man behind the bar who directed us to the waitress. She was equally friendly and took us to our table. She took drinks orders straight away, then gave us a perfect amount of time to decide on our food order. The food took a while to arrive, but no complaints as that indicates it is cooked to order. When the food arrived, it was well presented and tasted good. The pie was particularly good. Its not often full pastry case pies are served these days and it was perfectly cooked too.We also had deserts which were nice.Parking: Disabled bays. Electric and standard parking available

We came for dinner with our son. The service was good and friendly. I ordered scampi but unfortunately there was no tartare sauce as advertised. The food was good tho. I have booked a Xmas meal there for December so I had 2 vouchers to use but couldn't use both of them so gave the other one to my friend. On the whole a good experience with just a couple of disappointments.

Pulled up towards 8pm to park our camper van for the night. We had driven around for ages trying to find a campsite with no luck and saw this on a Facebook group I follow for stopovers.Pub is lovely, we only had sweet potato fries but they were good and staff were really nice.Peaceful sleep and convenient location! Will stop again!

Popped in to catch up with an old friend, decided to have a spot of lunch, even though they were extremely busy, they managed to find a table. Service was great and the food was delicious.

We popped in for a Sunday lunch, we were the first in the restaurant. Our table for 2 was 'sticky', so much so that if we leaned on the table, our jumper sleeves got stuck to them. I suggested moving, my daughter said "No, that would be embarrassing." Had I not been with her I would have asked for a less sticky table. The Roast was average and tepid rather than hot. Service was polite. Place could do with a good scrub down. Won't be returning.
It was our first visit to The Piercefield and it definitely won’t be our last! We had wanted somewhere cosy to celebrate my husband’s birthday and stumbled across this lovely pub/restaurant. I made a last minute booking and was thankful they could fit us in. From the moment we arrived, we were looked after by the lovely staff and felt that nothing was too much trouble - they even went above and beyond to provide candles and cake decorations for a surprise ‘dessert’ The food was lovely, the atmosphere friendly and the evening was simply wonderful. We cannot wait to return!

We have been visiting for Sunday lunch regularly over the last year and have always found both the food and the staff great. This was not however the case last Sunday! We arrived at the usual time of a round 2.30 to 2.45pm. We asked the young female staff member for a table for two. She said “sorry we stop serving Sunday lunch at 3pm.” I looked at my watch and informed her that it was only 2.45pm (we have never had trouble getting a table at this time before, in fact staff have gone out of their way to accommodate us) she then said “oh yes, but the chef has gone home!” We were confused to say the least! Plenty of people still eating, yet no chef in a restaurant that clearly advertises Sunday lunch served until 3pm. We were extremely disappointed, not only having to miss lunch, but by the attitude of the young lady. My husband is one to shrug and walk away, so unfortunately we won’t be returning anytime soon.

This is an absolute gem! 10/10 Close (walking distance if reasonably fit) to Chepstow racecourse. EHU a tenner available or free if not needed - have a meal and drinks and everyone happy! We had an issue with Moho and staff were so helpful. Food fabulous and reasonable prices. Will definitely come back again!
