Really nice food- I had the bang bang cauli starter and I could have eaten it three times it was so delicious. Excellent staff-friendly and available but not hovering, lovely location. Have been before and will return. One note (being VERY picky) I wish the veggie lasagne was something more modern than the traditional courgettes etc- maybe a lentil ragu or sweet potato. I ordered the nachos instead and they were delicious but I really wanted something more filling.

One of the best nights ever had I walked in only been in 6 times this year and one of you staff a beautiful young lady called Rachel remembered exactly what I drink it made me feel loved and wanted

We visited for Sunday dinner, place was busy and we had a warm welcome, place looked inviting on ordering we all opted for the Welsh Roast beef dinner, drinks were served promptly and friendly server, when the food arrived i noticed the the small portion 2 thin small slices of beef, 3 roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding, the beef was Ok but not enough, roast potatoes were a bit dry and the Yorkshire was clearly cooked a lot earlier resembling the consistency of a dry Choux bun, the side order of vegetables was 1 dish for 3 diners which was not enough I had 2 carrots, and 2 spoons of cabbage, no diner should ever have to split a broccoli and cauliflower Florette in half to share, overall disappointing and pricey for what you get.

Visiting the pen y bryn was a great experience. Not only was the food exceptional, the service we received was outstanding from all staff. Matt who was serving our table was friendly and polite the whole time and really made us feel welcome.

We booked as a family of 5 and had a really good meal, grandkids loved it too. Busy but swift and attentive service - definitely recommended and do try the local Solaris white wine.

Cannot fault our experience. Attentive waiting staff couldn’t do enough for us, including tailoring some dishes to suit my dietary issues. The food was the best we had all holiday. The beer and wine was in great condition. Our dog was welcome, and the ambience was fabulous.

WOW !!! Literally enjoyed the BEST roast dinner we’ve ever had !! After the staff kindly found us a table (we had 2 small dogs with us and hadn’t been able to get in touch to confirm this when we booked) - we were greeted with a very friendly Beth (Roberts) who looked after us throughout. The food was so tasty and so well presented - literally couldn’t fault it and didn’t want it to end !! All of the staff where walking around smiling and the atmosphere was very welcoming - but extremely well organised. Beth was so friendly and accommodating. Exceptional service !! We cannot wait to return and can’t recommend this place highly enough. We had the roast chicken and the roast beef, pigs in blankets Ang cauliflower cheese with bread crumbs …. Thank you all so much for a delightful evening.

Pen y Bryn is part of the esteemed Brunning &Price Pub/Restaurant group and its position, in an elevated residential area of Colwyn Bay is popular with locals and visitors. We booked a table for a meet up with friends and we each enjoyed our choices from an extensive menu. Pescatarians were more than happy with the home made fish pie, served with a crisp potato crust and a selection of tossed green veg. My wild boar and apple pastry pie came with a delicious mash and fresh green veg awash with gamey gravy. My wife’s favourite fish cakes were served with a green salad and the thrice fried chips ordered as extras were soft on the inside and deliciously crisp on the outside. Standards were maintained with a range of desserts; French apple tarte fine with a toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream, summer pudding with a berry sorbet and pickled blackberries, a novel passion fruit Elton mess, and a leaf out of the French/Italian theme of Cafe Gourmand mini tiramisu with a flat white coffee. A busy buzz throughout the building resonated with the enjoyment of the diners and the efficient staff who briskly brought out the kitchen’s delights. Distant views of the Irish Sea and the small harbour in Rhos on Sea add to the ambience of this popular place.

Absolutely fantastic service especially from Rob and Michelle who always go the extra mile for us. Food was fantastic with really careful attention given to allergies. Will definitely recommend and return.

Gorgeous pub and food is excellent. We both had the lamb which was delicious and the meat just melted. The dauphinois potatoes that came with it were amazing too, as was the gravy. We followed it with the tiramisu (highly recommended) and a scoop of lemon sorbet. One of the best meals we’ve had in a very long time and we love to eat out. Service was great too and overall lovely ambience. Looks like a great pub for the summer and winter it and we’d come back to Colwyn Bay just to eat there again.

Had a lovely meal here on a Saturday night. Very busy and atmospheric but still the staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to bring our dogs in the pub but need to book as they only have a small dog friendly area, although garden is lovely if it's warm. Menu is changed every week so it's good to know the food is not just delivered frozen and reheated. Had some nice alternatives to fish and chips and burgers which is the usual pub grub. I had sticky lime and ginger chicken with Thai red curry and pak choi it was delicious and felt healthy and nutritious. Summer pudding was also gorgeous. We will definitely be back a lucky find through this website, very grateful.

Lovely visit first time and would be more than happily to visit again highly recommend. The staff are very attentive the food came out at a good timings the food is as it said Gastro Pub food. Only a personal preference but I like butter with Pate and toasted bread and I would perhaps prefer fresh chips rather than frozen but they are personal preferences and the place is well worth a visit.

This is a lovely large pub. Was greeted promptly on arrival & seated. Food was brilliant including fish pie, fish & chips and a light bite pasta. The only comment is that service was quite slow & once we'd eaten felt overlooked so had to go up to the bar for more drinks and when paying. It seemed the person serving us finished their shift and no one took over. Generally though we enjoyed our visit.

Their website says it looks like a health centre from the front, we didn't think so but don't follow the satnav! The pub was in the car satnav database and took us to the wrong place! Food very tasty and generous portions. The pub is also dog friendly but gets busy so booking advised. Staff very good & attentive
