Visited on Boxing Day for a meal and a drink, we had booked the table in advance, were told there would be half hour wait for food which was fine, then went to order, first no soup so again fine, then ordered again and sat down, a lady came over to inform no wraps, so third time lucky we ordered again. 2 hot sandwiches with chips and ordered a side salad. The side salad was tiny, dry and not fresh at all, we asked for some dressing and it came eventually. The staff were standing about chatting only 2 could be seen but tables were left covered in dishes from previous diners. Our table was not cleared once we finished eating. The food was mediocre at best and the service poor. I haven’t been here for a while but the food used to be top notch and the service. Such a shame.

great place but you need to sort the music levels when the quiz is on. I'ts impossible to hear the questions with how loud the music is. it's like this every week and it's taking away from the enjoyment of

Ordered scampi chips with mushy peas The lady brought it over but I noticed her thumb was in my mushy peas. That put me off straight away. Food was not that great Won’t be eating there again.

Waited around an hour for three small plates and two coffees. Staff had no idea what was happening and seemed away with the fairies. One staff member came over and told us it was ready but forgot what table it was for but then took a good 20 minutes to come back with it. Really strange place, likely wouldn't go back unless I'd booked a week off work for the wait time.

Breakfast was ok but the staff were spending Time on their phones, & talking.......instead of Serving people at the bar waiting to order. The typical wait while the bar staff are preoccupied is about 4 minutes...which is too long especially when there only about 15 people in the pub.

Excellent, Excellent festive lunch and looked after by the staff so well. Apparently we were their first festive lunch this year - well if that's the start don't know how they could improve - brilliant, thank you.

Ordered a starter and a main the starter was really nice, good portion size and value for money.However when the main came I had ordered the Sunday roast they had ran out of pigs in blankets ( which wasn't to bad) I was offered cauliflower cheese as a substitute but I had already ordered this as part of my meal so I was told this would be refunded, the portion of gravy was a little small to what I would normally have so asked for another, the staff member came back and stated that I had to pay for the extra gravy before they would give it to me so I reminded him that I was owed for the pigs and blankets, to which he replied no problem, so out comes the gravy ( which was really nice) I look at the menu again and it states that you get free top ups of gravy, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds. So why did they refuse to give me gravy until I had paid for it?After all that the meal wasn't very enjoyable and the table service well apart from them bringing the food out was next to nothing, when the plates were taken wasn't asked if everything was OK so sadly the experience wasn't very enjoyable.
Awful from start to finish.. the waitress that 'served' us just seemed annoyed and had a sour face. The food was barely warm, looked horrible and was just edible on top of one of our meals coming out so late that everyone else had finished eating..

Lovely venue but chips were really awful! And I love chips so I'm afraid I've knocked a point off for this. Everything else was spot on.

We had the 3 roast lunch(beef turkey and pork) and the Vegetarian Mushroom Wellington. Not huge portions but tasty,well worth the money and served hot. Staff friendly and polite;and welcoming to dogs a bonus.
