Having stayed before, we had no hesitation in booking again. A comfortable and welcoming environment, one in which to relax. The views are breathtaking from the bedrooms and the outdoor seating area.A good location from where there are many places to explore, particularly nearby Conwy and a large car park so no problems bagging a space! To round it off a good restaurant.Rooms: The rooms are well appointed and comfortable with wonderful views of the countryside and distant hills. Good sized bathrooms.Nearby activities: Conwy with its castle, stunning views and surrounding areas for walking and enjoying the seaFood & drinks: A good restaurant and selection of ales

The Groes Inn does deserve all it's great reviews - the rooms are beautifully presented, clean and comfortable (and exactly as they look in the photos), and the pub is quirky and inviting. So I'm going to be very picky in my review. I have 3 recommendations for fellow travellers staying here, based on a 1 night stay on a Friday in March.1. Don't book a room on the ground floor at the front - the poorly fitting door opens straight to the outside just yards from a very fast and therefore noisy road. Some draught excluders round the door would help.2. Take a list of conversation topics, or a book, to occupy you in the long waits between courses of your evening meal. Ours was in danger of becoming breakfast. It wasn't even busy. Breakfast itself was faultless though.3. Don't order the crispy beef salad - it's literally just leaves, cold egg noodles and deep fried beef strips with very little dressing. Tasteless and dull. Other items on the menu looked good though.Other than that, this is a lovely place and I'd stay again (at the back, with an earlier dinner slot and without the salad)! Told you it was picky ?

Managed to book in at last minute for dinner after reading previous reviews. So glad we did. This really is a great little find. we were lucky enough to go the day the new menu came out and there rally was a good choice. My steak couldn't have been better (except maybe for a blue cheese sauce option) a really good cut of beef and good perfectly. My wife opted for the curry which was excellent as well, full of flavours. Add to this the Groes Inn is dog friendly and has a good selection of JW Lees Ales and you can't go far wrong.

Booked in advance for 2 nights over the weekend & wasn't disappointed. Didn't realise when I booked that dogs were allowed to stay but when showed to our room was relieved that all was clean & tidy, no residual doggie smells! Room was very spacious & comfortable. Had dinner & breakfast both days we stayed & food was excellent & staff couldn't do enough for us. Only 10mins drive into Conwy & beautiful location. Excellent value for money all round & will definitely stay again.

Food & drinks: Main course of lamb shank was amazing, the black pudding starter was lack luster being served on a crumpet with an overdone poached egg. Drinks a bit pricey. 6.50 for a pint of inches. But my wife's wine she said was nice and better value for money
Perfect little getaway with my husband & dog.Staff are lovely, room was spacious and the food…WOW!!!!

We had a lovely stay at the Groes Inn Hotel, all the staff made you feel very welcome. When the website stated dog friendly they really are, they pampered my Staffi Ruby almost as much as they looked after us.The breakfast menu was brilliant as was the evening menu, the food was delicious and very well presented on the plate. The rooms were very clean, the bed was a super king which was really comfy. The inn is on a very busy fast road but we never heard the traffic when inside the buildings. I really recommend you give this wonderful place a try.
