Love the concept and the kids loved cooking their own food. Service great and BYOB makes it great value too.

Had read so many reviews that we had to try this. As others have said your meat arrived seared but you do the rest on a hot stone. You chop a bite size chuck off the min cut and sizzle away! We could not decide what we wanted and had the trio of meats. All beautiful cuts but the star of the show was the lamb! Great fun and great food and as it's BYOB you get to drink exactly what you want. Recommended

Excellent restaurant, highly recommend going here for the food, service and experience of cooking on a hot stone to get the meat exactly as you want it. Very good value for money as you take your own drinks so keeps the cost of a meal out down. All the food we had was superb, definitely worth a trip to Conwy for

Absolutely wonderful. I booked the restaurant and I was told it was BYO alcohol, so we brought along our own bottle of red wine. I have never been to one of these restaurants before (where you have to cook on a hot stone) but it was wonderful. We had the trio of meat to share and it was lovely to cook this yourself on the hot stone. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area!

We are here having noticed the restaurant on our last visit - we didn't have time to visit then, so we made sure we did so this time. I have to say, we are so glad we went to Lava!! The experience was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious. We would recommend the salmon and the steak very highly! The staff were also lovely and friendly.

Amazing place and the restaurant owner, Chloe rebooked us and gave us a generous discount because her oven had broken on the night of our original booking, which obviously couldn’t be helped She really went above and beyond to rectify the situation, and it’s great to see that excellent customer service still exists Hats off to her The restaurant itself is excellent with superb attentive staff and lovely food – my oldest teenage son said it is the best food he had ever eaten - that’s praise indeed! Will definitely return and highly recommend

On a holiday break first time in this part of the country. We were familiar with the “lava stone cooking concept” having enjoyed the experience many times on holiday in the Algarve but first time here in the UK. Restaurant is situated in the quaint walled town of Conway. Restaurant isn’t very large but well appointed, clan and comfortable. No alcohol licence but you can take your own, no corkage charge. For starter I had the crayfish and prawn cocktail, my partner had the baked Camembert. The prawn was lovely and a decent portion, baked Camembert was fantastic and came with a whole toasted baguette, I had to help her but wasn’t complaining ?. For the main we shared the trio of meats, which was 6 oz each of fillet, rib eye and lamb rump. Came with selection of dips, some roasted vegetables and a beautiful baked potato covered in melted butter. Obviously cooking your meat to your liking is personal choice but the quality of the meat was excellent. Couldn’t manage dessert as we were too full.!!

This was our 4th visit and definitely won’t be our last. We remember Tesni from our last visit with our friends and her service is second to none always smiling and very attentive. We ordered the trio of meats for main and the accompanying sauces the melted Stilton and cheese sauce was to die for could have eaten a bowl of it and I have no words on how incredible the jacket potato was so buttery and fluffy I was in heaven. Overall the food was delicious and Tesni made our visit extra special. Can not wait for our next visit very soon.

This was a lovely find and something different and quite unique, where you cook your own choice of meat or fish on a hot stone rock at your table! It was busy, pre-booking required. They don’t sell alcohol but you were welcome to take your own along with you. It’s dog friendly, mu dogs had their own rug under the table to settle down on! Nice selection of quality food with gluten free and vegetarian options. I forgot to take a photo of the main food as I was busy listening to instructions on how best to cook it, but you get a platter with a jacket potato, roasted courgette & carrots, a selection of three dips and then your meat or fish on the hot stone. Food was lovely, quite a novelty cooking on the hot stone, would definitely go back!

Luckily managed to get in here after a cancellation. Food was fantastic, staff so friendly and atmosphere was wonderful. BYOB is a great idea and anyone who has complained about having to cook your own food, well you should have read about the concept. I personally find it great fun cooking on a lava stone and cooked my steak to how I like it, it was a great experience, .Oh have to also say, had the best jacket potato I have ever eaten in my life!!! Was originally thinking I’d prefer chips, but no, the jacket potato was buttery and incredibly delicious!
