Pubs in Cowbridge

“We had visited the Sycamore before- a lovely old village pub not far from Bridgend. Decided to go for our wedding anniversary and so glad we did! So many dishes to choose from, and many homemade. We had the Thursday night "steak special" which was excellent. The chips are really good. Lovely atmoshere and the staff couldn't do enough for us. They even welcome well-behaved dogs (ours came with us). Thank you all for a perfect evening.”

“Went to the White Lion a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the vibe. The seafood pop-up seems to be a roaring success and all of the fish we ate was deliciously cooked. Management has put a great deal of effort into ensuring that the interior is beautiful, with fresh flowers everywhere! It was very very busy but we were treated with the utmost care.”

“Sunday lunch is awesome. Lots of fresh vegetables. Tender pork and chicken and perfect roast potatoes. Gravy should be eaten straight from a mug as so yummy. Sticky toffee pudding is just so light and tasty. Only gripe is no espresso, but can live with that lol. Staff are lovely. Was really busy but thankfully we’d booked ahead. Will definitely be revisiting very soon”

“Had lunch there today, absolutely amazing. Such variety on the menu with an excellent range of lunch 'bites' as an alternative the restaurant. The Korean wings, fish cakes and rabbit compote were superb, as was the plate of local meats, cheeses and breads. Great real ales too. Don't miss out!”

“A great experience which started with the booking service, so easy!!On arrival our party of five were shown to our table by the excellent Zoe. We were given time and space to plan our order and Zoe was very accommodating when some our group decided to try and have three main courses. We all had so much fun and a great evening was had by all. The food was amazing and the portions were generous, so much so that we couldn’t manage the three courses. We were grateful to Blair for leaving the kitchen to enable us to thank him and his staff, especially Zoe, for making our visit so pleasant. We’ll be back!!”

“We had an early evening table inside the restaurant, and had a very enjoyable meal. The mixed bread starter is fantastic, as has been the case every time we have been here. Service was attentive and main courses also thoroughly enjoyed. Given the veg you get with the mains as standard, there wasn't need for any additional sides meaning that overall this was a very good value experience.”
