“We’ve eaten here a couple of times now and there’s a good range of food on the menu from lighter snacks to full meals and the big plus is that they serve food on Monday and Tuesday lunchtimes too, when many in the area don’t even open.”

“A nice country pub with good traditional food. Not a big selection of drinks but fairly standard choices. Set in a nice quiet area.”

“Eaten at the White Lion several times over last few months. Burger night on a Thursday is great. Decent selection of burgers and they’re a good size. Freshly made pizzas have been added to the menu in the evening for eating at the bar, outside or takeaway and these too are excellent. Staff always chatty and friendly ?”

“Cracking little pub, nice and lively with a good crowd even on a weekday. The claim about the Guinness being the best this side of Wales is spot on and the bartender clearly has his pour on point.”

“Visiting the area from Devon we visited The Fox 31/7/25. Very friendly and helpful welcome from the bar staff as we hadn’t booked and although busy they fitted us in. The atmosphere was buzzing with lots of locals popping in and out. The starters were a little expensive but enjoyable. We then had beef pie and ham hock and leek pie, both with silky smooth mash, gravy and veg- proper homemade pies not the sort with a flaky pastry lid. Both were delicious. We shall return again when visiting later in the area. Highly recommend.”
