It's a really nice restaurant, lovely food and great staff. The menu is mostly tapas style with lots of small plates, which you can mix and match. Good vegetarian options were available. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

This is a beautiful eatery in Cowbridge, we travelled down for the day and wanted a delish Sunday roast, and we definitely found it at Rocket & Rye. We booked a table in advance in case we missed out, the restaurant was cool even though it was boiling outside, it was really spacious where we sat and had a really nice atmosphere. All the staff were really lush, helpful and super attentive. The restaurant had such a nice layout and we felt very comfortable there. They did have some gorgeous looking small plate/starter options, but we opted straight for the Sunday roast, and it was beautiful! Everything from the roasties, to the vegetables to the Yorkshire pudding was top tier! Only thing I would say is that their website/photos of the menu might not be up to date, there are slightly different options to choose from according to what's in season/what they have when you go in there, but everything was really delicious! I then had an apple and blackberry crumble cake with custard, which was just the sweet sweet ending that was needed! It is a lovely restaurant and we will definitely be returning!

We were recommended here after one of the other restaurants in the village was full. We had a superb meal, we chose a couple of dishes each and had the chicken to share in the middle. Delicious! Wine is good, service excellent, staff are really on the ball, thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Could not fault a thing. Would highly recommend

We all go out to restaurants and shovel lovely food in our faces but this one really was noticeably a step up. The roast chicken Sunday lunch was immense. (Chef's) hats off to all concerned.

Came here for Sunday lunch. We both had the roast beef with extra potatoes and cauliflower cheese. The food was so good and cooked to perfection. Best cauliflower cheese I've had as I'm not really a fan. The young girls who served us were so attentive and polite. Couldn't fault them. Service was amazing. My partner wants to add that the ladies toilets were so well thought out with little extras in case you were caught short! Really nice touch!! Will definitely be coming back with the whole family.

Had a very nice lunch. Service was excellent. Full marks for coffee. Cheese buns, chicken wings and foccacia was very nice. Reasonable choice for vegetarians.Toilets were not very accessible if disabled.

From the welcome to paying the bill, dinner at rocket and rye was a very pleasant experience, a good selection of food, which all tasted superb to friendly helpful service and art work on the walls, hope to return in the future

First time trying Rocket & Rye and oh it was most definitely worth it.The wait staff were extremely friendly and very helpful when we were looking at the menu, explaining how it worked.The menu is what I would say is tapas, a selection of dishes to share.We chose four plates and each plate was divine! I cannot wait to come back and I have raved about your food!Highly recommend!!Parking: You can find some free larger car parks that are around a 2-3 minute walk to the main village street.

I thought my experience at Rocket & Rye deserved a 5 star review.I booked in for Sunday lunch last minute. I must say how it exceeded my expectations, one of the best roasts I've had. The beef was cooked to perfection as were the roast potatoes. Great value for money given the high standard of food served. The staff were also very friendly and well mannered. Great that we were able to take our dog, we sat in the garden and enjoyed the sunshine. Will definitely be a regular from now on.

What a lovely place.There is loads of space here - the cafe is not just what you see in the window but goes down the length of the cafe and has a conservatory part on the back.Excellent small plates menu - perfect for a light lunch, and we could definitely have a full dinner here as well. A limited selection of beers and ciders as well as a good wine selection.We called in on a Friday lunchtime and it was moderately busy. Staff were very helpful, relaxed atmosphere. Food was very tasty - we had 4 of the small plates between 2 (hot cheese tart, French fries, beetroot and orange salad, roasted broccoli - gorgeous) plus a beer and a cider. That was more than enough for us (it was a warm day as well).The menu changes all the time, so you will need to see what they have available. We were told the chefs make menu adjustments daily. It will be good, whatever you have.

The food at Rocket & Rye is beautiful. I have been a few times now with my mum and dad when I visit. The menu changes regularly and always has interesting, colourful, tasty dishes. I always feel I can't wait to come back and try a few different dishes. There is much warmth and happiness in the staff and they are always helpful and friendly. My dad has Alzheimer's and they are always accommodating and happy to help with his needs. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and I will be returning on my next visit to Cowbridge.
