Have visited 3 time in past 6 months and each visit it has improved, food has improved, ambience of wood burner and the car park has improved. Will definitely be going back. ?

Great bar meal today. Excellent service too. Best village pub in the Vale by far.

Arranged a family get together for Sunday lunch as Penllyn was the village our family grew up in . Waited an hour to be served even though we had booked. Food was disappointing and not hot when it arrived. Service was almost non existent. Gave up trying to order any more drinks or desserts as nobody was serving. Really disappointed wouldn’t recommend at all.

What a GREAT FIND the Fox at Penllyne on a Monday evening at 5.30pm.Loads of atmosphere, the Bar was full of cheery customers having lovely chat. ?????The Restaurant is beautifully appointed with bags of character and a warming wood stove ?????The STAFF were SUPERB.Cerys and Keira - absolutely delightful young women who smiled and had wonderful customer care skills. All topped with an EXCELLENT CHEF Nathan. ?????The food was delicious and piping hot.An all round 5 STAR experience.?????Parking: Safe, secure and easy to get in and out. Marvellously convenient.

Had lunch there today, absolutely amazing. Such variety on the menu with an excellent range of lunch 'bites' as an alternative the restaurant. The Korean wings, fish cakes and rabbit compote were superb, as was the plate of local meats, cheeses and breads. Great real ales too. Don't miss out!

Popped in for lunch. Food was great… don’t miss the chicken wings. Really cosy pub and lovely friendly atmosphere. Fantastic place for lunch and the evening menu looks great too.
What a gem of a find! Lovely looking pub (exterior and interior). We received a warm and friendly welcome, bar maid can't help you enough! Good choice of drinks and food. We had a basket meal - burger and chips- delicious! And plentiful too. Can't wait to return ??

Third time this year that we have visited this pub as we love it here and the food has been pretty good. This time we came for Sunday Lunch. I chose the lamb which was the most expensive on the menu at £21 - loads of beautifully cooked veg but an absolutely tiny portion of meat which was really disappointing. My husband had the beef which looked much better value at around £17, plenty of slices. The staff are always most welcoming but this time my food was a let down ☹️

Vibrant on a Saturday night. Staff were very busy and not all our meals arrived at same time but that's the price you pay when a pub is buzzing with the sound of voices and live music. Highly recommended, will deffinitely be back next time we are out walking in the Penllyn area.Parking: Car park was full but as customers came and left over a few hours more cars parked ok.Kid-friendliness: Abundant outdoor seating

They give you 2 menus to order from as a walk in, and then when you go to order say you can only order from the ‘basket’ menu because we didn’t pre book the table. Make it make sense ? Waste of time and rude

We had a lovely evening with our 20 month old, and while it can be difficult enjoying a meal with a toddler, the staff made us feel right at home and well looked after. The food was delicious especially the tempura prawns and the creamy lemon linguini. The chefwas able to customise our toddler’s meal too to something we knew she would like. There’s a lovely cosy atmosphere and we can’t wait to come back.
