Had the leek & potato soup - delicious. Shame no sandwiches mostly main courses. Lovely staff & dig friendly.

Food is good, but it's not as quaint as it used to

Not overly impressed with breakfast looked like it was just thrown on the plates who plates up a breakfast on top of the toast? Don't care if an affluent area but when charging £12+ for breakfast it's got to be spot on and when paying £3.50 for a flat white which was very small and served in a glass (not even thermal just normal) it's should be great coffee I make a better flat white on my barista machine at home and I have no training.Would not go back if visiting again sadly to say.

If you can get here for breakfast, it's never fails to disappoint. Great local food. All that work there are always so nice and friendly and the place is always so cosy and welcoming with log fires lit.

We had a lovely lunch here today. The staff were extremely efficient and friendly, making the dining experience very enjoyable. The menu was quite extensive, and you had the option of a takeaway meal if you so wished.

A lovely homely cafe, super staff, delicious coffee, great range of food, I asked for a ham, cheese and onion omelette and it came with a delicious lemon and mint salad. A great place, go on......try

We had tea and cake on Sat afternoon (mountain berry pie and polenta cake 5/5), and came back for breakfast on Sunday morn and omg - the Vegi (sic) breakfast is absolutely scrumptious.Filling and savoury in the best way - spicy beans some of the best I’ve ever had.Vegetarian options: Vegi breakfast is a wonder, multiple egg options (scrambled, poached, fried, omelette), toast, porridge and a big sweet treats counterParking: Parking on street is limited most of the week (max 1h stay, very few spaces), but you might get lucky. No restrictions on Sundays.

We used to come here for an occasional treat, as it's slightly above our normal budget, but it's changed. The upstairs section is shut permanently, so customers are crammed in downstairs. The wonderful artisan sandwiches with generous salad garnish are off the menu. The cheapest items, if you want an actual meal, are soup or baked potatoes. Some of us ordered leek & potato soup whereas I picked sweet potato & ginger. It was all fresh and OK but nothing special (like things used to be) and there was a sizeable gap between each bowl arriving. The accompanying bread rolls seemed to have come from the supermarket. My coffee was average. There is nothing really wrong with the Granary but everything was a bit disappointing. You can take your dog if you want.

I thought that £15 for a roast beef sandwich was a touch expensive. I WAS WRONG.A slice of rye bread with a mountain of fabulous salads on top with terrific dressing. Then FIVE slices of beautifully cooked, tender and tasty roast beef.It was WONDERFUL and the others were delighted with their smoked salmon and falafel plates.Vegetarian options: The monster falafel salad is with lots of trimmings was perfect for a vegan.Wheelchair accessibility: Someone in a wheelchair came in as we were eating and appeared to have no problems. However the regular toilets were upstairs.

Came here with the family a few days before Christmas for the 3 course set menu. The scallops for starters were fantastic. The main and deserts were very good. Lively atmosphere as it was Christmas celebrations so was quite difficult to converse. Still would highly recommend and shall be visiting again.
