My boyfriend and I came here on a really busy sunny day at the beach and we had excellent service and super friendly staff even though they were rushed off their feet. The food was delicious and the loaded chips were amazing! Not your regular chippy!Parking: Gravely car park but lots of space and free!

My recent visit to The Catch was a complete letdown, marked by disappointment from start to finish. Despite shelling out a hefty £38 for two people, the quality of the food fell far short of expectations. The chips, touted as a side, were an abomination - so overcooked they bordered on charred, rendering them virtually inedible. Adding insult to injury, the fish portions were embarrassingly small, and the batter was also overcooked, leaving a bitter aftertaste. It's evident that The Catch prioritises profit margins over the satisfaction of its patrons. My advice? Spare yourself the disappointment and financial drain by seeking out a restaurant that genuinely values both your money and your taste buds.

I recently dined at the Catch at Cobbles and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Let me break down the disappointments:Waiting Time:We patiently waited for nearly half an hour, hoping that the delay meant our meal was being meticulously prepared. Alas, time alone cannot redeem what followed.Salt and Pepper Squid and Popcorn Shrimp:The salt and pepper squid and popcorn shrimp were nothing short of a culinary catastrophe. I suspect they were sourced from the depths of mediocrity (perhaps even Farm Foods). The calamari, doughy and gristly, defied all expectations. As for the prawns, they were tougher than a marathon runner’s dap and greasier than a mechanic’s rag.Fish and Chips:Brace yourself for the pièce de résistance: the fish and chips. The overcooked batter clung to the fish like a soggy, grey shroud. The once-promising fish had lost all hope, swimming in a sea of grease. And the chips? Dry, lifeless, and resembling fossilized tree bark. The Price Tag:To add insult to injury, the bill arrived—a whopping £39 for this culinary catastrophe. It felt like paying for a front-row seat to a disaster movie. Conclusion:I regret to say that I won’t be returning to [Restaurant Name]. My taste buds deserve better, and my wallet certainly does too. If you’re seeking a memorable dining experience, look elsewhere.

The worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. The chips are dry and the fish was greasy. Big waste of money.

Batter was tasteless and soggy, dripping in oil. Everything tasted the same, bland. Wouldn’t return.

Service was ridiculously slow. Over half an hour for 3 small chips and a chip butty. Where other people came and went. Won’t be using again.

Booked for my daughter’s baby shower at at Cobbles kitchen & Deli today for 30 people. What a lovely afternoon we had, The staff Jody and Sophie-jo were amazing and so welcoming where nothing was too much trouble. We opted for the grazing table and the food was superb. Everyone who attended was so impressed and we will Definitely will be going back. Thank you again

We had our wedding at Cobbles in September 2023. Chloe and Lea couldn’t do enough for us, they were great to work with. If you’re looking for a wedding venue which isn’t the typical big room with formal round tables for your guests then you should definitely look at Cobbles. So many of our guests have said how well the venue worked for our wedding. It was exactly what we wanted from our wedding, relaxed and free flowing it was the best way for us and our guests to mix. We had 116 guests there and it just worked perfectly. Thank you again Cobbles.

Email sent to them with three follow ups: none answered. I notice they don’t comment on any adverse reviews either. “Odd experience this afternoon. I thought you did brunch but arriving at noon one blackboard said the kitchen was closed the other open from 11. No one to ask. We ordered sandwiches instead of brunch but when the order arrived my Brie and Onion pasty was missing. Your counter assistant sought to help quickly but seemed to have no idea what I asked for. After a lot of pointing I was given a very chilled pasty. It appeared to be a sausage roll. It was cold; surely you heat those up? I started to eat it: it was all sausage. I went back to enquire but was told by the second assistant that it was Brie and onion but it is with sausage. She said " up to you if you want it heated". I'm still unconvinced that something so clearly advertised as a vegetarian option should be a sausage roll! I just wonder if all this is correct, rather than two junior staff bluffing their way through, that you should make the availability of the kitchen clearer and those items which really are vegetarian options or not and to be served hot or cold? Had several really enjoyable breakfasts and brunches you in the past. This was disappointing.”

Fish when we cut into it was tiny, grey and wet. Inedible. Ended up throwing away. Place looked lovely and thought it would be a treat after a nice walk on the beach. Definitely a poor experience and would not use again.

It’s been almost 6 months now since my partner and I got married at Cobbles, and it was truly the best day of our lives! From start to finish the girls were nothing but accommodating, supportive and helpful - no task was ever too big or too small, every request we had was accommodated and the day went without a single hitch. Every one of our guests complimented the venue, the food, the staff, the drinks - I don’t think it could’ve gone any better. Chloe, Lea and the team are incredible, cannot recommend them enough! The venue is small enough to feel so intimate but big enough that every room is something new. They work closely with Cinnamon Pig (who I would also HIGHLY recommend for decoration) and the whole venue was beautiful throughout. We have the most beautiful photos and memories from the most incredible day, and if it’s a rustic, boho, barn style wedding you’re looking for then this is it ? Thank you really aren’t enough words to express our gratitude to Chloe, Lea & the team at Cobbles ?

Cobbles was the perfect wedding venue for us. Small enough to be intimate and big enough to have our nearest and dearest attend. It was great to have everything in one place. Leah and Chloe were really great at supporting us with our ideas and answering any questions. The staff were all really friendly and the food was great- we got a lot of compliments! It really is a beautiful venue with great people running it. Our day was exactly how we wanted it- relaxed and happy and that was in no small part to everyone at Cobbles Wedding and Events. Thank you so much! ???

Originally visited Cobbles Kitchen about 8 years ago. Haven't been in the area for a long time, came back and saw it was still here and couldn't wait to eat.Cobbles was closed, but noticed The Catch. What a beautiful surprise, because the food was insanely good. Lucky enough to try their festive smothered chips which honestly stole the show so much, they should be available all year long. My friend has since been back just for these chips and took two friends who also loved it.Top tier. Easily the best chips I've eaten.Parking: Open carpark without grids. Easy to park and plenty of space.Kid-friendliness: The staff are extremely friendly and I don't see anything that could be considered unfriendly towards children.Wheelchair accessibility: Gravel carpark so perhaps not the easiest for wheelchair users.
