Really disappointing as the sign proclaims a buffet with over 60 dishes, unfortunately there was no buffet and food was ordered via a menu. The starter platter was cheap fried cr@p which consisted of mainly chips. The mains were no better, very bland with little taste, what taste there is is grease..... No worth it, go elsewhere.

Fantastic buffet meal. We popped in on saturday night whilst on holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Great staff, meal was quickly served. Would deffo pop in if in the area again

Stayed next door so had to visit. The buffet was done via menu (I assume unless it’s busy enough to have it out), which is always better anyway imo. Definitely much more western style Chinese food, never had a starter platter with chips and onion ring! But the chips were great so no complaints. Food was pretty decent, not the best Chinese buffet food I’ve ever had, but still good. Wasn’t very heavily salted/seasoned but I’m probably used to very salty/MSG heavy Chinese food. Kung po pork and black bean beef was great. Loved the garlic mushrooms. Banana fritter was amazing. Great value imo.

The starter was dry and had what seemed like leftover chips battered and fried. The mains were marginally better but still was dry. After leaving i felt rather ill. Won't be going back there again. And definitely wouldn't recommend eating in. On the bright side the service was good and the staff were friendly.

You Don't need to know

Ridiculous price almost £20 per person to order off a small menu…. Not even a Buffett of you can’t go up and choose what you want. Staff very rude not helpful did not explain anything and when rang to ask if buffet was open said yes and failed to explain we’d have to order of a menu and wouldn’t be able to get up and choose ourselves. Completely dissatisfied

It's ok, get what you pay for. Food is always fresh and hot but on last visit we were pushed to have all our courses together. We had to stand out ground and insist we ate out starters first!

The worst Chinese food I ever ate, The taste was horrendous I ordered Singapore noodle they gave me chiomein and was so sweet, salt and pepper ribs and king prawns, the vegs were black, ribs were so chewing and king prawns were so small, satey chicken was look like curry chicken and tasteless we had other dishes as well they were all as bad as others. all the items on the menu were over priced and small portion, not value for money. Service was only thing I can say yes.

We saw this restaurant online while visiting Wales and thought we would give it a try, when we got to the shop we were the only ones inside the shop, we was greeted by a young waiter that gave us two types of menus, the shop looked like a school canteen with not a great Vibe no music and a noisy pub next door where they share the space. We was given these two menus one being a Normal menu and the other being a ( Buffets) if you can call it that, I asked if I can have a normal menu as I didn’t eat much of the food that was offered on the buffet menu and was told no if one person ordered on the buffet menu we both had too, so we paid the 15.50 each for the buffet selection to then be told you chose what you want and they bring it out so wasn’t really a buffet where you can get up and choose what you want or a selection of different foods it was a small variety on offer that they get for you and bring out. We then decided to order some more due to the cost it had already cost us for the little we got to then be told if you don’t eat the food you have to pay £5 per dish you don’t eat I was in shock of the cheek from them to say I have to pay that if we don’t eat the food when they label it a buffet and all you can eat? Nothing saying what ever you don’t eat you must pay £5 per meal wasted, I asked to take a small amount of the food home as we didn’t want to waste the food or pay they silly over price £5 per meal not eaten. We had two lime and lemonade with our dinner one each which somehow cost us £10 just for the two drinks £15.50 each for the fake buffet meal so in total £41 for two people to eat at a shop that wasn’t even a buffet, staff were rude when asked for a pot to take the food home so it wasn’t wasted. Definitely will not be returning to this shop when we come back to Wales in the near future, and definitely would not recommend anyone paying for there fake buffet menu that you have to pay £5 per meal if you can’t eat it all.

Only take cash! Got to drop a star for that: it's a long walk to th cashpoint and when you've made up your mind to eat - well, I grab th cash from th cashpoint and keep walking round th corner to t'other Chinese takeaway, it's much easier. Sorry.

Absolutely shocking place, 21st birthday party booked for 15 people. Sent out 2 plates for starters waited an hour and half, ordered mains told half the menu was unavailable then they was trying to add £5 for any food not eaten asked to speak to owner totally refused. Everything is falsely advertised. Only reason she finally come and spoke to us was because she thought I worked for trading standards there was several other customers complaining about the same thing treated with total disrespect Stay clear...... Your reply is absolute rubbish out bill was £60 £30 for drinks there 10 of us and we all refuse to pay £122 for 4 starters ???? absolute clowns. Your own staff was apologising for your behaviour I'm more than happy to speak to the police trading standards have already been informed. Lieing will not get.you customers. The manager refused to come to speak to us untill she thought one of us worked for trading standards. Your in the town speaks for itself carry on with your false advertising and treating customers like you did yesterday you won't have a business left. I said in FB I'm about to kick off cuz we was sat waiting for nearly an hour before the starters even come out and 4 plates ???? your something else. When you pay for a service and it's not delivered or not up to the standard you are paying for you are more than in your tights to not pay and walk out it then becomes a civil matter you was told you wasn't being paid we paid for our drinks but paying for freezing cold food I wouldn't feed my dog that we waiting an hour and half for no chance.

Very disappointed that we were told that there was no buffet, only for some other customers to be offered a buffet menu (it seems that apparent 'tourists' and 'locals' are treated differently). Although the food was ok, we did not get as much variety and the food was expensive for what it was. Advice: do not advertise as buffet restaurant if this is not offered to everyone.

I’m always wary of takeaways that have huge menus but the Hampton is AMAZING! It’s usually a all you can eat buffet apparently but on our visit that was closed because of Covid, it’s situated next door to a pub although we didn’t visit there. It’s spotlessly clean and the staff are lovely and friendly. I recommend calling with plenty of time to spare as they are BUSY! The salt and pepper crispy chicken wings and salt and pepper chips are a firm favourite, and the crispy shredded beef is spot on. We’ll be back!

Extremely impressed with the quality of the food, high level of service and variety of the take away. Incredibly popular Chinese and for good reason. Would absolutely recommend and sadly we don't live close enough to make this our regular! Thank you very much Hampton Chinese for our delicious meal.
