Fantastic little cafe selling home made food in a secluded courtyard. Charming young staff. Delicious treats. Home made quiche. Very reasonably priced. Lemon scone to die for!

Lovely courtyard setting . Great food but young lady serving is very immature and bickers with her colleagues in between serving customers. Not great atmosphere. Shame as the chef works so hard and food is great. Perhaps she’ll tell the young waitress to be more professional.

So we decided to try this specific place as we were on route back home from our anniversary weekend away in Barmouth and it was a good place to call in for a late breakfast after reading all the fantastic reviews we were sure this was the best place to come for some good quality food! As we arrived at 11:10 am on Monday 26th June 2023 we sat down in the courtyard at our own discretion with no official greet which probably didn’t seem too bad but it’s always nice to have a friendly hello as it wasn’t busy. We knew we wanted the large breakfast as were very hungry by this point, and ordered orange juice and tea, our drinks order quickly arrived but two orange squash, which the young boy served assured me it’s juice (I wasn’t born yesterday!) but just nodded as didn’t want to make a big fuss. It didn’t seem a big deal and we let it go - this was the first signs. We then felt as time passed we waited a significantly long amount of time as another couple came in after us and we’re served the same order which we thought was strange,(why wouldn’t the waiter be aware of this and rectify it) extremely bad! And alarm bells started to ring by this point and we become increasingly impatient as we timed our journey with getting home to Cheshire due to commitments (again irrelevant I know!) after over 40 mins I got up and knew something wasn’t right at the counter greeted by unsure staff with no one particularly being assertive as the waiter hadn’t taken our order up to the cook, I was greeted with blank looks and the young waiter didn’t seem too bothered about it just extremely poor as we were told sorry and it will be out soon. We were not in a position to leave as we didn’t know the area and thought we were going to be in for a real treat…. Food was flat, extremely average, poor sausages we were so disappointed we love Welsh sausages they were like walls sausage from the shop no taste and you can tell as soon as it arrived on the plate! Toast was plain and wasn’t what we were asked as described (brown thick toast) it was multigrain. By this point we were that hungry we knew we needed to eat as didnt have the energy to felt to complain by this point. We are extremely patient kind people ourselves and would take a lot to write a review of complaint however we just felt it’s only right to let people know. There didn’t seem to be much leadership here or any sort of Apologetic of the sort. The lady at the end was the most kind but it doesn’t excuse the service. Obviously there’s good and bad days we were unlucky on this occasion if the breakfast was really good then we would give the whole thing a knock on the head, we also noticed a gentleman asked for a breakfast and if they would still serve as the time was 12 noon till we were eating ours after an hour already, to be told no when it was quiet it wouldn’t do no harm to let him have a breakfast because it’s money in the till. We won’t be returning here.

Called on a very hot Monday and decided to try the courtyard cafe as it had milkshakes on the menu. Staff very friendly and polite. Outside seating area very pleasant and also an area undercover and indoor seating too. Banana milkshake topped with cream and marshmallows was delicious. Opted for a lemon scone with lemon curd and cream too - it was amazing. Very reasonably priced too. Definitely will return and highly recommend

Wow, what an amazing little find. Stopped for a coffe, ended up having the most amazing scrambled eggs and salmon. Super food, extremely tasty and the most cheery staff. Highly recommended.

Found after walking down the alley. Lovely friendly staff, food options were great, down to thick or thin bread & the usual brown or white options. Offered other dietary choices if needed. Good selection & well priced. Shame the location is slightly hidden as think this lovely place could show the front street cafe’s how to do it properly. Sell local produced craft items also.

I cannot fault this cafe at all. Have travelled to llangollen the last week or so (20/8/21) 3 times. When we want dinner this is the cafe we head to lovely food and staff that are very friendly. Dog friendly also.

Service and hospitality spot on. Afternoon Tea was gorgeous and well worth the £8 charged. Would definitely recommend this lovely cafe.

Stopped here for a quick snack. Lovely big mug of flat white coffee was actually hot. I had a cheese, onion and branston toasted sandwich with thick bread. Was amazing! Hot, proper bread toasted, loads of filling. Best I’ve had ever! Husband had tea, a pot with enough for two cups and veggie soup which he enjoyed. Hand sanitizer and wipes available, tables clean, spaced out properly. Happy workers wearing masks. Went back next day.

Small but welcoming cafe, and what food- fantastic. The menu seems ordinary but the food was far above what was expected ?
