A treat to come here tonight for the end of our holidays. We had coffee & cake for eleven’s, cake & a pint later and then an evening meal.We had 3 courses plus complimentary sourdough larva bread & amuse Bouch. The food was sublime along with great service and very reasonable pricing. If you are in Llanidloes or near & you want a lovely gastronomic treat…try here, you will enjoy.

Had a superb meal here with friends. Was the only place serving food on Monday night in the town. We had a fantastic experience, food was out of this world with superb taste combinations, all served in a friendly and welcoming environment. If this restaurant was in a major city, this quality of food would easily cost double. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough

Excellent fine dining. Starters were lovely. I had scallops, my husband mackerel, both excellent. The main meals of pork belly for me, lamb for my husband were absolutely cooked to perfection. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Prices were very reasonable. Restaurant was nicely decorated. We enjoyed our evening meal so much we returned the following day to sample the lunch menu. Which was very different but just as tasty. Absolutely wonderful. We’re returning to Llanidloes next month and have already booked our return here.

Jamie had created an amazing taster menu which is prepared by his enthusiastic kitchen staff. 10/10 food!

Went here for a bit of casual lunch with a friend and was welcome by lovely waiting staff and were shown to our seats by the window in a lovely dining room filled with art which I presume was done by someone locally. The food was to die for the fish and chips my friend has was perfectly crispy and the chips fluffy and was paired with lovely sauces and I had the rarebit which was rich and flavor full and was cleansed by some gorgeous pickled red onion and to finish our lunch I had a lovely crumble with creme anglaise with wasnt too sweet but balanced with the fresh fruits of the crumble.

Well there are new things happening at this restaurant it seems. We sampled the taster menu last night and couldn't fault it. Courses included venison , scallop, Lamb and pollock plus fresh homemade bread canapés, a fantastic rhubarb and chocolate dessert and petit fours. Jamie and his brigade did us all proud. Service was great too, the staff were very friendly and made sure we had a great evening. If you haven't visited, please put this on your radar, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Wow, what a great set menu, 9 course taster menu was fantastic. We had a pod outside and it was a perfect setting for a romantic dinner together. The food was very good indeed, the spring lamb and venison dishes were delightful. Jamie and his brigade did a brilliant job and are really putting mid wales on the map with his culinary delights. I thought I was going to miss out as there was no wine flight BUT fear note, the wine selection was nicely varied and exceptionally well priced , so I managed to pair some very good wines ( a couple of very nice Welsh ones in the mix too) to teh dishes which went down very well indeed.

A wonderful evening celebrating the patron St of Wales through the beautifully crafted menu by Chef Jamie Tulley. We were greeted with a complimentary cocktail on arrival, delicious and refreshing flavours of Raspberries. Alongside our beverage we were treated to some Canapés including a miniature scone topped with Leek purée as well as some heavenly homemade bread and beetroot butter. The cutest wooden butter knife allowed for a gentle smearing of the delicious spread without disturbing the integrity of the delicious crumb and lovely chewy crust. Our first course of lamb cawl went down a treat! An unusual take on the classic with unctuously tender braised lamb accompanied with mussels in a light but flavoursome broth. The next dish came beautifully presented, with a gentle aroma of the smoked haddock which was absolutely melt in the mouth and paired surprisingly well with the Caerphilly. Perhaps the most skillfully executed dish was the following fish course of Sewin and cockles, the skin on the fish crisped to perfection while the flesh inside was blushing pink and moist. The saltiness from the samphire and Cockles balanced the richness and sweet notes of the Trout. I was momentarily transported to the seaside with each mouthful. No sooner had I arrived back in my seat in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains did our next helping of Welsh Lamb swiftly arrive at the table. The rack was cooked impeccably, rosy pink tender flesh and fat that melted like butter in the mouth. A deeply savoury celeriac purée accompanied the dish alongside moreish leeks that had every ounce of sweetness coaxed out of them. What Welsh menu would be complete without a nod to the timeless classic Rarebit that we all know and love? Gladly this was no exception. A single floret of nutty roasted cauliflower sat atop the faithful cheese sauce, nestled in a beautiful bowl that brought about a sense of comfort as I made every mouthful last. Nearing the conclusion of what had been a triumphant journey of sensory pleasure we had reached our penultimate dish of the evening, Aberystwyth Teisen Mel - traditional Welsh honeycake. Having spent the entire evening gassing with my friend, the dessert course brought along a period of silence to the meal. Quiet intrigue as we set about gathering a piece of each element with our spoon bringing together a harmony of flavour and texture you wouldn't believe. It was as if Builth Male Voice choir was singing a verse of Calon Lân in my mouth. The tuile garnish that crowned the dish so beautifully in its honeycomb laced pattern. As the evening drew to a close our friendly servers presented us with a delicious square of millionaire's shortbread to go with our tea and coffee. A humble yet satisfying finish to a fabulous meal. The team at Chartists 1770 should be very proud of the work that went in to this memorable occasion, much thanks and gratitude to you all.

We were both extremely impressed with the service from the moment we entered the premise to each course of food we consumed. As far as a dining experience this was unlike anything in the area we have had before and comes highly recommended

Great discovery in town. I could have had anything on the menu. What I chose was fantastic. It felt like everything had thought and care put into it without being over complicated. I later found out it's a training space, there is clearly talent in the kitchen. Thank you.
