Fantastic experience. We booked a room and had dinner and breakfast. The room was lovely, spacious and very well turned out.Dinner was superb and a real dining experience. There were some very novel and exciting dishes available, along with the more traditional, so something for everyone. Flavours were first class, as was presentation. Top marks for the chef. There was a good range of breakfast available but we opted for the full Welsh. It was cooked/seasoned to perfection and a great start to the day.Staff were great. Warm and welcoming. Exactly what you can expect from the Welsh, but seems to be typical of Llanidloes, which is a lovely town.Overall a great stay so many thanks to all.

Always great food here. Beautifully presented for a wonderful fine dining feel. Pleasant atmosphere and super attentive staff.

We stopped here for lunch. The venison burgers were fine (although one was undercooked), Unfortunately the £16 pasta dish was tiny and a real rip off for what was served. This was a shame because the place seemed fine otherwise with good service.

Service was poor in the evening.

Two of us had a very good three course dinner, with a glass of Welsh red wine in an elegant dining room. The food was excellent, decent helpings (not too big, not to small), prepared to a high standard both as to preparation and presentation. The service was friendly, attentive not intrusive, and we felt well looked after. An enjoyable and memorable evening.

I only had dinner rather than stay but it was exceptional. An imaginative menu, tasty food and well presented. The two young waiting staff, a woman and a guy, were a credit to the hotel's training programme. Highly recommended. I'll stay at the hotel next time.

We had been walking in the countryside nearby and wanted to treat ourselves to coffee and cake. We found The Trewythen by accident and at £4.50 person we decided to give our custom. The coffee was hot. The cake was moist and delicious (plus a good selection which made it difficult to choose). While paying (cash is accepted), we discovered that this is a training venue for young people who are beginning their personal career within hospitality and catering. As one of us is a Careers Adviser, we were even more pleased to have discovered this hidden gem and know that we played a very small part in the development of the next generation. Keep up the good work.

Stayed one night as I was working in the area, was a great night sleep and such a lovely little town! The rooms was lovely and the staff were incredibly friendly. The only slight issue I had was the TV! I was so happy to finally see a smart TV in a hotel so I could actually cast and watch whatever I wanted but no the TV was slow and would crash constantly, soon as I got my YouTube video up it would crash and switch back to free view same with netflix I could only keep running for a few minutes.
