First time we have revisited for a meal since it has reopened. The staff were really lovely and the food was excellent.If you are going to have a simple menu, it has to be beautifully cooked, and it was gorgeous.We would thoroughly recommend.

Excellent meal .Great portions of home cooked food. Friendly and helpful staff . So full at end of meal but couldn't resist the pear and ginger crumble which they kindly put in a takeaway container for us to have later- delicious ?

We booked The Riverside for a funeral tea after the funeral of one of our family. Always a difficult call as never quite sure about numbers. The staff were extremely understanding, flexible and efficient. They adjusted the food provided to cater for all present. The food was of an extremely high standard. We will be returning in hopefully happier circumstances. Thank you for providing a friendly and comforting environment at the end of a difficult day.

Both had wonderful Sunday lunches, and agree they were amongst the best we’ve ever eaten out. Unusually for us we had a starter, the homemade soup which was delicious. Then on to the main event - plenty of meat (one beef, one lamb) veg and gravy all cooked to perfection. Both at bursting point, we still couldn’t refuse puddings - again, homemade and delicious. Staff were very attentive and overall good value for money. Will certainly be back.

Had two meals there. First was jsut a couple of starters in the bar area and both the goats cheese salad and smoked duck salad were excellent. Sweet potatoe fries were a bit overdone but only charged for one portion. Bill was £36 (+tip) Second was a much fuller dinner in the restuarant. Tenderstem broccoli starters, gnochi main course and tofu curry main course were also excellent. Followed up with two affogatos (with liquors) also excellent. Service great - efficient and friendly. Total bill was £92 (+tip) which we think was good value considering the quality.

Very good service and wonderful food at a price well worthy of the quality. Apparently a community run venture - wish we had something this good where I live! Definitely recommend.
