An absolutely top notch evening. No menu & no particular wine list, just enjoy everything. Just 8 covers when we dined there which makes for an intimate dining experience.

Entry is through an anonymous door leading to a dining room with four tables, so 8 -16 covers (8 the night we were there), It's booked up months in advance, doubtless because of the Michelin star. While we settled in my beloved had a Monmouth 'cham0agne'and I had a Welsh gin and tonic. The fizz was the better choice I lost count of whether we had 8 or9 course; they're all prepared in front of the diners. They are tiny portions of often exquisite and unexpected combinations. Dried cod, skin, fermented vegetables, lamb tail were among the ingredients. All were served on unique, mainly handmade made, small pottery dishes. A memorable evening, not least for the price- nearly £500 for two including the wine pairings (with 5 of the dishes). To be honest, I wasn't convinced by most of the wines. It was an interesting experience, but I wouldn't repeat it. I'm probably too old and conservative for it!

We had been to this restaurant a few years ago and we had thoroughly enjoyed it, so we were nervous about going back in case it was not so good. We did not need to worry. Everything about it was fabulous. The food was multi layered with contrasting textures, both the food and accompanying wines were carefully explained by the Chef prior to each course, and the ambiance was low key but very comfortable. All in all one of the best meals we have had anywhere in the World. A triumph.

One star for service. Tried to phone, filled in the contact form on the website and even emailed the direct email address. No reply.

Fantastic and different restaurant that definitely deserves the Michelin star. To see one chef and one waiter prepare and serve four tables was a fun experience. A set menu were served and all courses tasted magnificent. With alternative rock in the background the atmosphere was truly special during the meal.

We had the most imaginative meal we have ever had at Sosban. It is difficult to describe the attention to detail and the unusual taste combinations of fresh seasonal food to make an outstanding taste experience. The service, to the small group of diners, was excellent and our enjoyment of the courses was enhanced by carefully selected wines and the colourful explanation of what we were about to eat. Highly recommend for a perfect escapist experience. We cannot wait to return but may have to be patient because Sosban is quite rightly extremely popular amongst those lucky enough to discover it!

Dining at Sosban in Menai Bridge was a truly unique and personal encounter, leaving a lasting, beautiful impression. As someone accustomed to more traditional restaurant settings like l'enclume and Moor Hall, I entered Sosban with a sense of curiosity and uncertainty, unsure of what to expect. Let me begin by highlighting the remarkable location. Menai Bridge, with its sweeping views of the Menai Straits and its proximity to Anglesey's beautiful beaches and the majestic, brooding Snowdonia mountains, provides an enticing backdrop for a weekend getaway. The discreet entrance of Sosban, nestled behind a modest shop front, adds an element of intrigue to the experience. Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome from Matthew, whose genuine and attentive service went above and beyond the standard Michelin maitre d'. The absence of formulaic processes was refreshing, as the flawless, heartfelt service truly enhanced our overall experience. We were promptly seated at our table and treated to a memorable gin and tonic, which happened to be the best I had ever tasted (I am now a devoted fan of Pollination gin). The chef himself made an appearance, serving us and passionately introducing us to the evening's culinary journey. Speaking of the chef, Stephen Stevens embodies the spirit of Welsh gastronomy. Like the brooding mountains that surround Menai Bridge, his passion, humour, and talent shine through. He masterfully curates an atmosphere of and class that permeates the restaurant. Throughout the meal, he made impromptu visits to the guests, sharing insights and stories about the dishes we were enjoying. The food at Sosban was undeniably magnificent, surpassing my experience at l'enclume. Each dish was a testament to innovation, artistry, and exceptional flavours. It was evident that meticulous time, effort, and care were dedicated not only to the dishes themselves but also to the thoughtfully paired beverages. Sosban's food has a distinctive flair that sets it apart. I wholeheartedly recommend this exceptional establishment to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience. If you happen to reside in London, I assure you that the journey to Anglesey is well worth it. The allure of Anglesey's natural beauty combined with the ambiance and culinary prowess of Sosban create an atmosphere that is truly special. In fact, my endorsement speaks volumes—I have already made a reservation to return to Sosban, eager to relish its unique brilliance once again. Prepare yourself for a one-of-a-kind culinary adventure that is both remarkable and inspiring. Sosban is rock and roll food.

Only 4 tables. No menus. Perfect atmosphere. One of the few restaurants in the UK to combine a unique mixture of seafood and meat in flavoursome small dishes. This is cooking reminiscent of Heston Blumenthal. Highly recommend. Never been anywhere like this before.

What a talent to be able to put such flavours together. Tasting menu isn’t a regular dining experience it is a rare treat. It’s clear the team are passionate about food and service. Loved everything about the evening. The service, the food, the decor. That wasn’t just a dinner that was an event. Amazing.
