Absolutely fantastic meal! Visiting the area and happened upon Newton & The Gulshan for an early dinner. The owner was so welcoming, the restaurant was lovely and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful but most importantly the food was excellent! Would highly recommend this lovely little restaurant - a hidden gem ??

Gulshan provided the best meal - by far - that we had during our 28 day vacation in Britain. Indeed, it was the ONLY truly good meal. I like spiced food, my wife does not - but our server recommended two completely different dishes to meet our respective tastes and both were superb. Do not hesitate if you are in Newtown or passing through, try this restaurant.

Me and my husband went a few weeks ago served by Ali who is amazing with the customers and works very hard, olshish guy behind the bar served our drinks very pleasant at all times, great atmosphere,great food, great staff what more could you ask for. Will be returning ?

My Mrs and myself wanted a date night. I treated her to a Indian and took her here. As we walked in the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and tasty. I actually said to my Mrs this is the best Indian I have ever had, I usually have a curry lamb and the lamb has never been as tasty and tender as here, the lamb just falls apart in your mouth. My Mrs had a chicken korma and I tried a little and we both said how delicious it was. We will be definitely coming here again.

Upon booking a table over the phone to leaving the restaurant, the staff, service and food was lovely! Also very clean which is a biggie We ordered usual starters and some onion bahjis which where so tasty. Chicken rogan Josh and veggie Pathi with pilau rice chips and some P nans . Really enjoyed staff couldn’t of done any more so accommodating. Will be back.

We were staying nearby & decided we wanted a Takeaway. The Gentleman serving us was Lovely & Friendly, we could order for a set time or wait 20mins for it all to be ready. It was still hot when we got it back to our cabin (15mins away) & food was Lovely. Tikka Masala was the creamy, red type that my boys love. We will be holidaying in the area again & will definitely sit in to eat next time
What a wonderful welcoming. The Tikka Lamb was amazing and it was followed up by great chicken Masala. You won’t regret stepping in. Trust me.

We are on a tour of Wales in our Motorhome and we are spending the night in Newtown so thought it a good idea to have a meal here. Best decision ever. One of the best Indian meals we’ve had. Starter, main and sides were all excellent. Staff, especially Ali were helpful and on the ball! Would definitely recommend this restaurant

The most welcoming and cheerful staff I have ever encountered at a restaurant!Nothing is too much trouble, and the food is outstanding.My 9 year old boy was treated as if part of their own family and was thoroughly delighted with his experience, as was I and another family member!The food arrived quickly, and was an absolute delight - nicely warming and carefully spiced.Thank you so much Gulshan!Kid-friendliness: Wonderful people, who clearly understand how to be inclusive to children - an absolute gem of a restaurant!

6 of us went for my mums 80th birthday. We parked on the roadside then you walk upstairs to get to the restaurant. We were greeted by a pleasant chap who I would think is the owner and shown to a table. He took our drinks and food order and promptly brought us poppadoms and pickles. We then had starters that were good and just the right size. The currys were served to us with the naan bread and chips that we ordered. Those who ordered chicken said it melted in your mouth. The naan breads were about the size of a dinner plate. I had a prawn bhuna and my son had a chicken dopiaza. If were honest we both felt they lacked flavour. But we live in Halifax which is near to Bradford which is renowned for it's currys so we think were just used to currys from a different area. The service was good and it was really good value for money. We would all go back should we ever be in Newtown again.
