Management need to make an executive decision to ban shopping trolleys from the eating area. On my last visit there were five women each with an empty shopping trolley taking up an inordinately large amount of gangway space and crowding the other users of the restaurant. There is absolutely no excuse or need for this lazy and single minded practice.

If you order a hot dog, like me, you are in for a huge disappointment. What you are likely to get is a roll with a burnt pork sausage that could damage your teeth and leave you with a burnt taste in your mouth. My advice is give it a miss and go somewhere else. Don’t waste your money.

Lovely friendly staff, gorgeous coffee, food is fresh and tasty, only down side is that the service can be very slow. Otherwise love it.

Clean and bright. Good service. Excellent toasted tea cake, with enough butter and jam

We had brought food from Tesco and decided to go in to the cafe to eat is as the weather was very windy outside, without even being seated for a minute we were told we had to leave as we weren’t payees we had to leave. I found this utterly rude and disrespectful as we had payed for food In Tesco just didn’t get anything from the cafe. We could have just been settling down and getting ready to order. The man who greeted us wouldn’t have even known if we were going to order food. We hope to get a refund of the things be brought as our service was clearly not wanted… very disappointed may have to contact manger if this problem is not resolved ASAP

Full English and chorizo breakfast eggs were absolutely banging. If you haven’t visited this hidden gem, you are missing out. Lovely pot of tea too!

Travelling in a motorhome, 16 days away visiting England and Scotland, last day heading home to Pembrokeshire, what better than a breakfast to set us up for the day. Have used Tesco, Newtown many times, plenty of parking spaces and a cafe. So arrived 8.45, supermarket full of staff, duty manager clearly enjoying a chat with staff members, no queues at the cafe, indeed no staff even visible at the counter. After 5 mins a polite "hello" results in a lady appearing at a service hatch, to gesture she's on the phone. No problem, at least we can look at the menu. After another 5 minutes she appears, a polite how can I help you. "Two breakfasts please" - " Sorry, I'm by myself, I can only serve you drinks" after a Victor Meldrew moment "I don't believe it" clearly lost on the assistant it was a reluctant plan B a meal deal! Our under worked catering assistant by now had managed to join the duty manager's gossip group, but clearly not to report our disappointment at not having a meal! Will we be detouring off the bypass to visit Tesco "superstore" Newtown on our next trip, definitely "NO!" And to add insult to injury after purchasing the two meal deals (which were good value, and tasty) the cashier then offered us a promotional free barista drink only at that store! My advice, see the sign "Newtown" just use the bypass!

Super customer service at this Tesco cafe! We were served by Leesha, she was so lovely and friendly and really brightened up our day. Food was also great!

Called in for a brunch snack yesterday lunchtime. The cafe was busy with most of the tables (socially distanced from each other) occupied. We found a table and ordered the ultimate breakfast bap each and a couple of coffees. The coffees came quickly but there was quite a delay in the baps so my friend chased it up with the staff. They apologised for the delay caused by staff shortages but they brought the brunch out shortly along with two complimentary coffees so we could still have a hot drink with our baps. Jane served us and was very attentive and thoughtful. The baps and coffee were spot on. Great staff, very friendly and thoughtful.

This cafe used to be well run, with good food and very competent staff. It is now hopeless. One can wait half an hour for a cup of coffee - and that when there are only two customers in there! They also cannot seem to get the order right and even take your money and fifteen minutes later say that they do not have the food ordered. Cannot face going there again.

Nice little cafe with good food and great staff. The store has a very welcoming, chilled out atmosphere (nothing like most supermarkets)...I could almost ditch the online shopping!

I visited during a trip through Wales for breakfast, as I knew I could rely on Tesco for a good meal. I attempted to "build my own" breakfast, but the assistant serving me did not appear to understand this option, so I settled instead for the big breakfast and made one or two tweeks to the selection. The food was good, served hot and the assistant very pleasant and keen to get things right. However, she was the only one in the cafe and could clearly not cope with the level of demand at 0830 in the morning, let alone at a later time. The result was that my anticipated 30 minute break lasted for well over an hour! If you're going to provide a cafe service, then at least try and staff the facility! Tesco need to really get a grip if they are to stop the apparent decline that has gripped them.
